    dregs
    dreɡz/
    noun
    1. the remnants of a liquid left in a container, together with any sediment or grounds.
      "coffee dregs"
      synonyms: sediment, deposit, residue, accumulation, sludge, lees, grounds, remains;
      technicalresiduum
      "the dregs from a bottle of wine"
      • the most worthless part or parts of something.
        "the dregs of society"
        synonyms: scum, refuse, riffraff, outcasts, deadbeats;

        Thought this needed to be posted, because Model As, '40 Coupes, '57 Rancheros, are not considered outcasts by anyone I know. Keep the Morris', 4 doors, Kaisers, etc coming, & this thread could be one of the coolest on the HAMB. Just my .02

  3. “There’s nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes.” Billy Zoom told me that when my son bought one. Boy was he right.

    If anyone were to ever find one of these that didnt get crushed over the years, I could see it being very cool, and a real stand out at shows with the right set of wheels,stance etc....I owned a 2 door one years ago when I thought they were just ugly as ugly could be but I think they are kind of cool now maybe just because of it.

    I don't think everyone understood the question.

    Even though it is on the ragged edge of HAMB time frame, I think this fits your request v8 1.jpg v8.jpg

    Sitting in the back of one, of a friend`s, is what inspired me to find/build a round fender car.

    It's already been said, but it's worth repeating: There's nothing more expensive than starting with a cheap car. This applies double to "dregs" customs and hot rods because no matter how much work and money was expended during the construction they will never bring the kind of return on investment that a more popular car will. Just ask me how I know.

    [IMG]I'm not sure it's cool. The owner may think so. I do think it meets the "Dregs" requirement.

    Truth to that but if you can afford to go wild without expecting a return on an investment or have the creativity to make something less desirable cool on the cheap, I say go for it!
    I love a 55 chevy or a 32 ford etc. but anyone with money can do that.
    I would rather see something different when possible, one can see the mainstream stuff at most events

    Nothing cool about that. The original 93B was cool (in a warped sort of way) but that? How did it ever pass tech?

    [IMG]Another picture from the Bonneville thread. All things considered, I think any car that someone builds and runs at Bonneville is pretty cool. But maybe not pretty.

    I love where this thread can go! Keeping in mind, unpopular cars and trucks require more enginuity to build, and parts harder to find....I hit up Google for images of where my mind goes, and by no means do I consider these junk or ugly! Just untapped potential! Steve Stripe @ Pure Vision Design is building a '63 Dodge Custom... and Nash Aeroflite's in both two and fordor have been rodded/ customized for years! Checkers would/ should be made gassers, just squint and see a' 55 Chevy! It was hard for me to NOT go all Nash/Rambler/ International ...lotsa potential hidden there!

    Probably one of the least liked Fords is the '38-'39 pickup. I just couldn't live with that oval grille on my old '39...so I modified and used a '36 pickup grille 0.99.jpg 39xxx.jpg

  22. I was working in a gas station in '63. A guy came in with a '38 pickup, left it there and gave me the pink slip. I thought it was so ugly I scrapped it. Smart, eh?

    It's not done yet, as it's going to get painted and a '54 Buick grille and headlights, but it's better than it was! '47 Desoto IMG_20220623_090714.jpg 6776895831.jpg

  28. My sons car isn’t the most desirable either...but, it is cooler than it was. Amazing what stance and wheel covers can do.

    I'd tell him to customize it and then it would be cool.
