  1. Can you send the crank back? It would be a bummer to have to buy new rods.

Can't believe Jim hasn't cranked up his SouthBend and be cutting new journals by now!

Heck of a job you are doing, I'm guessing I'm one of 3 million pulling for ya!

They say you can fix anything with Duct-Tape, can't you just wrap some around the crank journals till the size is right and keep this build moving forward. Ralphie

I thought you were supposed to run them a bit loose to get more revs?:D

No step for a stepper! You seem to be compartmenting tasks, so if one trips you have others. It keeps things moving forward regardless. The progress is stunning... thanks for sharing with us.

  7. It's almost going to suck once the build is done. Sure following what you do with the car will be just as cool, but I'm really enjoying this build.

  8. Hey Jim, at first I was a little sad you were cutting up such a nice fish !

But this thing is so clean and proper it looks like your doing a concourse restoration instead of building an altered !!

I love it can’t wait to see the finished product

I expect I'll be working on this thing a long time after it's "done"...

painted doors this morning, working on the collector for the street exhaust.

Jim, you'd better patent those header collectors, that has got to be a first. You are doing one really nice job on this, going to be really cool.

the bug content is proportional to how much it rained the night before.

The color being painted can have an effect on the number of bugs attracted too. Did an apple green motorcycle tank one time and it was black with gnats in a couple of minutes. All you can do is let it dry and sand them off at the knees.

I have the same spray booth as well. that is what wet sanding and buffing is for.

I've been working on the front end support...and getting the steel fenders ready to put on the car, since I doubt I'm gonna have time right now to make the fiberglass fenders. Lots of work, not much visible progress.

Squirrel is actually fooling us. It took him the last 4 years to build this car. He's using time lapsed photography and mirrors to convince us he can get this done.
