Using the calculator I normally use for my LSR runs. #640 was running right at 5100 for it's 116 speed and would be at 135 mph @ 5966 rpm with 3.55's. Using 3.75 gears 135 mph will be 6303 rpm. Looks like 6200 will be just over the record with no slippage which is something hard to calculate with any vehicle not using data aquisition.
The good thing is John and crew are not giving up and are willing to pull the parts out of the trailer they brought with them to get the best out of the truck they can.

I think my wife is getting tired of listening to Slim ramble on but the Planter Fasciitis that has had me in pain since Saturday when I walked way too much in the wrong shoes has given me a good excuse for sitting here and keeping up with or trying to keep up with. the runs at Bonneville. Looks like they are down to two courses tomorrow as more teams head home I've got to be in Yaki-Vegas early in the morning to get new exhaust on my work horse tow and haul rig so I might miss a bit unless I can figure out how to get it on my phone.

  22. Awesome picture on hotrod.com. D-Russ in the drivers seat. Thanks for the link John.
Good luck tomorrow Team 640. Want to see BIG numbers!

Yes, I didn't know until one of Johns posts.
I run a Pontiac pumpkin style rear and usually bring 4 set of tires and 3 different gear sets to Bonneville. Without a power robbing quick change you need options.

So you saying a quick change robs power?
    Guess I didn't know that.

  26. The entire team is excited for tomorrow, mostly to get D-Russ qualified at 125.

We have worked long and hard, and we have fought to get to this point. We will walk away from this experience with no regrets, and we all look forward to the next opportunity at attacking the record.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement - it means a lot to us .....
