I've been viewing this car like I was back in high school about 1970, head in a Car Craft or Popular Hot Rodding magazine when I should be paying attention to my studies.
I remember them covering those cool SoCal street machines cruising Van Nuys, Colorado or Whittier blvd.
    Gonna be fun!

I don’t want to be the negative guy, but the fuel in the front? that is the first thing that gets hit in a accident.

Seems most cars with damage to the front have another car that they hit in the rear. I think the type of use this type of car will see reduces the chance of that happening, and when you build a car with that
much of your self in it the driving will reflect the cars limitations. Besides Jim will use the car on the track as he should, not like the idiot in the "another crash at car show.

  10. Every dragster; funny car; altered and countless other cars mine included have the tanks up front. As long as there are some bars protecting it there is no problem. The tanks up front also act as ballast to keep the front end down.

Also, I'm not done adding supports for the front fenders/grille. This will include some protection for the tank.

Don't build a car like this, it's dangerous, things could go wrong.

Besides being the smart thing to do that seperates the runners from the posers.

Glad you got certified, the accident I was referring to would be on track, not street. but racer-x did test his theory on a retaining wall. Just thinking out loud, Hope everything goes well, Looking at your car makes me young again. Thank you for that.

Steel milk creates are the best.

The crankshaft showed up yesterday. Unfortunately, it's the wrong one in the right box. So I may be stuck.

it's a 4.150, mopar journals (well...that's what it's supposed to have, anyways). They are going to try to get me another one here by the end of next week, if they can ship it out this week. We'll see how it goes.

Our internet died again last night, they didn't come out to fix it this afternoon, because of the weather. So finally I spent a little time on it, and got it working again. Different cable acting up.

Anyways...I did a little blower mocking up to see if I have enough parts to make the drive work, I think I only need one spacer, I have an idler bracket on order. We also installed the windshield and back "glass" yesterday, and I'm about ready to put some paint on the doors and trunk lid. I'm still plugging away at it.

  29. The glass looks great. What was the problem with the crank? Did you buy a stroker?

they just somehow put a crank with 2.2 rod journals, in a box labelled for a crank with 2.375" journals.

so the rods are a bit too loose on it.
