Prior to 1949, what was the last year Ford made a 3 window coupe?
    (not a trick question...)

    If you do see a '37, it's a Minotti.

...or a Downs body, and that's why I was asking. The 3W's are beautiful, especially chopped, but I like the 1937 grill. But apparently Henry didn't do a '37 3W coupe.

    So...has anyone successfully grafted a '37 doghouse on a 1936 3W Ford coupe?

Just food for thought. keef59 posted this photo yesterday on "vintage shots from days gone by!" tumblr_pch16i5NYq1udqrrdo1_1280.jpg

    So how about after 1949?

Good answer, Jim! I never even thought about that, and I actually didn't think any 3w's existed after the 1930's. I didn't include anything past '49 because my interest was in something from the '30s - '40s fat fender era.

Mid/late 60's and later Vettes were 3 window coupes. 63 was 4, after that they were all 3. Dodge did a lot of 3 window business coupes in the '40-50's. Ford is about the only one that left them behind except the 'Birds.

A convertible with a lift off hard top is not and never will be a coupe. Some of you guys are too funny.

Or it’s an all steel chopped by a guy from the northwest sitting in my shop waiting to be finished. [IMG]

  14. Very funny, but Ford did not make a 3W in '37. This thread is not about who can custom make a 3W.
(It's not about Vettes or (lift off roof) T-birds either:rolleyes:)

  15. Seems like they reached perfection in 1936 and realised it could only go downhill from there...!:D;)
