This might date me a little but I remember when the McDonald's on Merle Hay Road in Des Moines, Iowa looked like that and those were the prices. We would stop there in our light blue 1956 Ford 2 door sedan and our whole family would have lunch on the picnic tables outside.

 

No problem..Here`s a pic. of Jean Harlow and hubby Paul Bern....She wanted to race against his car and suggested there was no way her could beat her...………..

The Iowa State Fair before my time, it started today. I'll be cooking up there in the Iowa Farm Bureau Cookout Contest. This year I'll be smoking my pork loin recipe that I won 1st place at the county fair this year. This will be the 5th year in a row I've had the honor of cooking in that contest. I've won something 3 out of the 4 years. 2nd place in beef the 1st year, 1st place in beef the 3rd year and 1st place in turkey last year. If I never win again that at least shows I can cook! I took my pork loin to our family reunion last Sunday and the only complaint I heard was that I didn't bring enough.
