I was close. I have two moisins. A m91/30 and a m44 carbine. I wish i could make that moonshine run. Looks like a good time! It always falls when i have to work
Got the engine back from the machine shop this past week so this morning we threw together an engine table and started on the valve seats. My dad put our vintage valve seat grinder to use and it works great! He gave me a rundown on how to do it and what to look for and away I went Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Oh also the block got punched out to .125 over. I think it calculates to 258” with the stock ford crank Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.

Took a whole week off of work so Im going to try to get the motor fully assembled, painted and sitting in the frame. Bottom end is complete but its lunch time so will post more later! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Great to see you fixed a cracked block as to just scrapping it and grabbing another, I can see a road test in the near future. JW
The machine shop only found one crack in the cylinder bore when they magnafluxed it. I figured it was cheaper to just have them install a sleeve rather than find another usable block. Ide like to be able to drive down the road in this car by mid October but theres still a lot of work ahead... Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Well we got the motor in the car, just not exactly how I wanted to do it... when I cut the torque tube I also cut the same amount out of the driveshaft. Sounds logical but reality isnt always logical.. the drive shaft is about an Inch and a quarter too long for some reason. Soooooo we removed to torquetube and shaft and set the engine in the car without it. We will fix my mistake tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
That looks great!! If you haven't made a mistake, you haven't done anything....so the saying goes. JW
Well Ive made tons and tons of mistakes on this build alone so I guess that means Ive done a lot? Hahaha Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
