I love that 56!Those guys were our neighbours in the pits, and we’re really great guys.
He’s owned that car since he was a kid,and he’s about 70 now.His story about how the bullet hole got in the driver’s door is pretty hilarious.
He pulled the motor from his dually pickup to get the car up and running again after leaving it parked for 30yrs,but he was talking about finishing up a mean 496” motor for next year.

Oh yes we were there, on the hill side. No cars though, mine through a rod about a month back and Steve almost had the GTO there Sat. morning if it wasn't for the master cylinder going out on the last test pass.

Yeah I talked to Scott for only a few minutes while he sat nervously trying to remember how to shift in staging.
It was awesome chatting with someone so renown for driving such a famous machine.

Shifting it would have been a bunch more fun if those mounts weren’t moving around and smacking the linkage into the trans tunnel....that first pass was cringe-worthy!

All I can get James , all I can get. My Mustang is a year to new and with Weld Draglites and Auto Meter gauges the build style is about 20 years to new. The Merc although it has the 60,s looks the chassis is totally modern . So that leaves me with either my 55 Bel air with a 427 4spd or a 52 Chevy with a 327 and auto. So that would mean this self proclaim Ford guy would show up in a Chevy:eek:! Or I could bite the bullet and buy my friend Chucks 64 428 Marauder that he has been tempting me with for 4 years and slip in set of my 4:10s and see if I can give you a run for your money;). lol Larry

    Now that's the sprite. :)
I kinda like the sound of some good old ford on chevy action.
You just better send those pesky old chevys down here, then you won't have to be bothered with them, cause you know it's going to take all your concentration on your breed. :D ;)

I have been hearing some rumors about the future of the track. Without getting into that. Have the events , Meltdown and the Pie contest been setup for next year? This urge to put one of my cars together for next year is still not going away. Just curious about what has been set up. Larry

After a lengthy thrash we were not able to make it this year. My hydro had some issues. I am just now begining to get over the disappointment of not being able to attend. IMG_0520.jpg IMG_0519.jpg IMG_0576.jpg

(Heavy sigh) I really hate you guys...
My home track, Interlake Raceway, is 2.5 hrs North. the next closest full season tracks are Fargo ND 4.5 hrs South and Minot ND 5 hrs South West... then there is Saskatoon about 8 hrs West. We have a part time track, 3 events, in Rivers Manitoba (2.5 hrs) and an airport drags event at Altona Manitoba...1.5 Hrs

Careful with that Ford power James. You may want to invest in some high speed driving lessons!;);) Hell Scotts a Ford guy and he can't even shift fast enough to keep up with all that horsepower! lol I will hopefully see you guys at Fallout. Larry

When Scott arrived at the Rochelle Petro truck stop he said he had Jet lag from all the preparation and the drive.
Informed him he was Towing with a Chevy truck and maybe that's where the Jet lag came from.;):D:D:D:D:D
Got one of these  and a smile from his Dad

Registered for the Fall Out today, God willing I hope to make it and to see all of you guys there.
