We all have fun with the Jeff verses Scott rivalry[us Ford guys more so than others] , but with out his and all the meltdown crews hard work we would not have this event to enjoy. So lets take a moment to give Jeff the respect he deserves! :D:D:D:D Okay moments up , back to our regular programing! Larry

You put up a hell of a fight for a guy making his first pass ever, not only in that car,but ANY car on a drag strip, while you were sorting out problems with a fussy shifter....I’d say you killed it,Buddy.
Also, which one of us is gonna be getting all the glory in Hot Rod magazine in a month or two....?

    Scott

I am as quick as I can go without a roll bar, maybe you will miss a gear. :D

I think my gear missing days are over.Welding the passenger’s side motor mount solid, and the transmission mount is getting a couple hose clamps to tighten it up as well.
That oughta keep things from moving around and jamming the shifter up again.
Then I’ll really be able to launch this thing.

I bet with a 6-point bar your car would be 2 tenths quicker.
That mean ol 409 must be putting a heck of a twist on that X frame!

Now it's down to how far I want to take it.
I guess the car owner did say, turn it into the race car I thought it should be. :)

  10. Running fast enough to need a roll bar, must be a nice problem to have! One day after the coupe is sorted out maybe I can give the Valiant some engine upgrades. It's as light as i think we can make it without spending to much money, so more horses it will need.

Such a great day. It’s hard to tell where the smoke starts and the clouds meet.

You guys were fun... love the LeMans (Don't call it a Tempest). It's a good thing when you realize the vision... The blown injected alky Pontiac is perfect. Once you figure it out and trust it, it's a repeatable combination... I'm just getting there.

    Til next time...

Since my Coker’s were about bald anyways I actually did a few burnouts this year. The first one slowed my 60’ time by a tenth My last one I decided to really get them hot which resulted in my best time of the weekend and this cool picture from Chicks Eye View. I’m not nearly as fast as pretty much all of you guys but I take pride in the fact that I drove it 200 miles there loaded down with bikes and tools and luggage, ran it hard on the same tires and drove it back home.
