Actually, where is it? Me and my boys over in Huntsville would be willing to build it when we aren’t in classes.

Good oppurtunity for a little creativity. Don't know how bad it is, but would be pretty cool if converted to an Aussie type Ute. Maybe someone with Photoshop could download a Googled Fordoor and create a Ute for you to consider.

    We were faced something similar 21 years ago, this is what we did ! img20180723_19304077.jpg img20180723_19193753.jpg img20180723_19223930.jpg img20180723_19242722.jpg img20180723_19265815.jpg img20180723_19253367.jpg img20180723_19142525.jpg

Didn't get a chance to get pics today, too many ot cars in the way but paying the bills.
I'm crazy, I'm really starting to like it. I think the rear is an 8.2 GM all will have to go. My 54 starchief is at a stand still for the moment and I might as well do something stupid while I wait. I have never chopped a top
How do I not Rat Rod this I don't even know what that means? Looms like rats lived in there for a while does that count. I don't see an s10 frame and or 350 chevy engine going in this

I already have a connection with this old car. Lots in common.

    1. We both born in the same year
    2. We both were born ugly
    3. Seven decades of abuse and neglect has not been kind to either of us
    4. No matter how much time and dollars you put into either of us, we both will leave this world as we entered...UGLY!

I must be the only one on the HAMB who has truly completely parted out car. as a matter of fact I did 3 or 4. fenders dash and deck lid? is that really all people see here? are you guys saying no one is rebuilding one of these? could it be that these Fords are actually worthless? never did a Ford, but there would be a good $3,000.00 worth of junk here for a person who knows what they are doing if this were a Chevrolet of the same vintage. I cringe every time I hear people speak of scrap for a car like this. so many good parts a person could use.

I see AT LEAST $1200 in parts there. Sedan and coupe rear fenders are the same, and I know there's someone here on the HAMB looking for a rear fender, so you'd be ahead of the game right there if you're willing to ship... I would get it, part it out, save the parts that could potentially be used on a hot rod, and sell or scrap the rest.
    Rear fenders $150-200 each
    Windshield garnish mouldings $75/set
Front Door garnish mouldings (same as short door coupe) $120/pair
Rear window section with glass $100 easy if you cut it about 4" all the way around the rear window
Dash $100 + depending on how complete it is
    Front Fenders $100 each
    Front inner fenders $100/pair
    Front fender support brace $50
Decklid $100 if the bottom isn't rotted out on the inside
Front brakes/axle etc... $200 if sold complete and it's stock.

Moral of the story is, even if it's an ugly car and you don't have any interest in it, do your fellow hot rodder/restorer a favor and save what parts can be saved before it gets crushed. Maybe you'll make some $$$ for your own project to boot!

The images in post #52 do not show an ugly car, is there no imagination on here?

And that's imagination to make it look nice, not drop some huge hp in it or use it as soil retention.

Cut in in two and stretch it and make a Limo out of it. Add a 460 with a c-6 and rear air . Boom you are business . People will be calling you for weddings and proms.

people will buy every usable part of an old car. when I parted out my Chevy's I sold the used front wheel bearings! I sold every piece by itself, sell the doors as shells, sell the window regulators alone, sell the hinges in pairs. when you have 30 auctions running at a time for the same car you get a lot of lookers and a lot of buyers. probably did 150 auctions per car.
I did a 53, a 51 and a couple El Caminos, plus a couple 49's I didn't throw away anything that could be used by someone else.

  20. 5 years ago I would have been all over that! I had sold my hot rod to make a down payment on our house that came with an oversized garage.
    Needed something to play with...

With all the '46-'48 Fords and Mercs I've had, my present 4 door isn't all bad... Familiarity breeds contentment. (or was that...'contempt'?)

I would pass on taking that car.
Some cars are more popular then others and that makes them more valuable to save.

    Just my opinion. Jimbo
