I always thought it was pretty amazing that Dean Jeffries decided to go the custom route with his 1956 Porsche 4-cam Carrera but he explained that he liked sports cars (with his connection to James Dean and his 550 Spyder) but also that the sports car guys had money and the hot rodders were scrounging parts out of junk yards for their cars. He did a pretty radical but elegant custom with his Porsche when he was working at Barris' shop in 1957.

I think this car sold in the last year, didn't it? I know it was restored...

That’s the definition of Elegant...Change for the sake points...we’ll it’s bound to lose original design. That’s my opinion and I’m stickin to it.![IMG][IMG]

Elegance is hard to pin down, but one thing's for sure...this one's got class!

Am I seeing things or is there not enough room on the wheel side of the fender for the rest of the side
mount spare? seems like the front tire would rub on it if there was anything there???

Now that you mention it, I believe you're right. It's similar to those pimpmobile Caddy's from the seventies with the fake side mounts.

  25. I hadn't noticed that but I think you guys are right.

'Mo came up with the word I was looking for.

"Classy". Describes most of the cars shown.

"Elegant". Just a few of them in my opinion, rise to this description.

    Just my thoughts. Bigern

I've had the good fortune to see this car in person a couple of times, most recently at KKOA in Salina. Very well done with modifications that enhance the original lines rather than just stuff stuck on with no clear cut goal.
