A question for the meltdowns crew? My daughter is considering driving her dart to the meltdowns. It isn’t entered just an alternate. Weather permitting. No.A/C She was wondering who to contact if it would be possible to get some senior pictures taken on the track. No big deal if it’s a pain, as she is planning on taking it to the fall out

This is the correct forecast... the other one had the wrong dates.

Looks like I can leave the anti-monkey butt at home this year

Zettle , that’s the breaks. You run hard something going to break,... eventually. Believe me the people in the stands don’t like to wait till the track is clear, BUT, we understand. Those of us that have broke ,know that not only kinda embarrassing ( no reason) but costly for the racer. We appreciate the show you guys put on. I’m working on getting a car to run a Meltdown, but not this year.

  8. Pretty sure Byron Dragway sells methanol too, but I would recommend confirming with them just to be sure.

Us alcoholics need to know where to buy at ;)

Yes, they sell Methonal for $4 a gallon and then they have 4 different race gases.

While visiting a fellow H.A.M.B. member that is building a bonneville racer. I was told gas is for washing parts, alcohol is for drinking and Nitro is for going fast! sounds like it should be a bumper sticker

  12. bill with how the poncho is going to drink methanol I would consider buying it in a drum. the mobil dealer on the 94 east frontage road just south of kr sells drums. the fuel is much cheaper. you can cut your fuel costs in half.

Gotta load the truck up with magazines for the swap meet:)

  17. That's the understatement of the day for Dad and I. The Valiant has once again languished while all our spare time has gone into the Dodge. Speaking of the dodge, after two not so successful shakedown runs the steering box is out, and the trans may need to come out. The next five seven days are going to be a real test. At this point neither car is ready and I'm not sure either will be come next Thursday. Wish us luck, we will need it!

I don't think I can haul a drum of that stuff without a lot of special licensing etc.

Darn near ready....had to pull some linkage off again and heat/straighten it to get everything working smoothly.
Going to fill it with water/oil/fuel tomorrow and make some passes on the street out in front of Pop’s house to make sure it’s all good, then begin tuning up the tow rig for the trip.
