It is interesting you posted this. It`s more of a show rod than a custom. BUT-------- pictured below is Ray Farhner and his son Larry. Doug Thompson used to work for Ray. X-RAY built in about 62-63 or so. Scan0674.jpg Scan0102.jpg

Absolutely! Double WOW! Per the 50s song, "That car's real fine looking, man - it's something else." License plate might indicate Scandinavia. Any further details? Looks like custom coach building. Spectacular!

Who's building this? I love to see these kinds of body reconfiguration builds. Gives hope for bodies that would otherwise get overlooked. This one looks particularly good too, good proportions.

 Worth mentioning (above) is the power-plant in the lead Shoebox Ford is a Cadillac V-16!

Perhaps this was the reason for a hoodless custom...to showcase the unique power train. It also could have been in a construction stage and the hood may have been being modded. I just thought it was a really cool pic...the Merc is near stock but the Shoebox hauling the 34 looks like half custom, half strip ripper.

Thanks Mick has this Custom been shown in this thread before? Be nice to see a few more pics and if it does indeed have that unique engine as Mo said that would be nice to see as well. From your memory did it always run hood free?

  24. Stogy, there's a few pictures of Jack's Ford floating around the internet, here's a couple I have handy.
I'm not sure if Jack still owned the car at the time the color shot was taken.
