Now that I got my A running good, I am thinking about putting on a set of 40 ford hydraulic brakes and spindles I have laying around. I did a search here and google but not seeing much. Does anyone have pictures of their master cylinder mounts? I have a set of 40 ford pedals, should I adapt those?

I posted some pix here showing how I used the stock brake cross bar and put the MC under the passenger side floorboard. Very clean installation and easy to do.

Hello from Rhode Island. New to the HAMB and recently purchased my 30 A. I’ll probably get scolded for this but sold off the fenders and 19s to another fellow who had a 30 A with no fenders and wheels. Did a few things already as you can see. Great reading in here. Thanks !

I don't know if my junk is sophisticated enough for this group. I'm not being sarcastic or cute, some of you guys are taking these old engines to a whole new level. Mine is pretty basic. I cobbled together a set up for a 1 3/4" SU HS6 carburetor using an upside-down stock manifold and some tubing. Also cobbled together a jackleg dual exhaust system out of two stock manifolds cut in half. The rest of the motor is still all original. It aint too pretty, but I like the old thing. Some pictures:

These were all taken during the process, so it's a little prettier now, but not much.

You must have a very good inventive mind, indeed ! And, must know a bit about welding , as it looks like you welded plates on cobbled exhaust and brazed a good bit also .
What did you use (process/material) to get iron plates to cast iron ?

  19. Thank you! :) I really like it, as it is!

Thank you. It's all brazed. Rosebud tip, lots of flux, seems to be holding together, so far.

When I got the car home the fenders were just not for me. Fortunately a friend needed fenders for his ‘30 A that he was building to stock. He also took the wheels.

  28. Around here, if it fires up (doesn't catch fire!); runs and doesn't fall apart (immediately); and YOU'RE happy...It's good for conversation around here! Keep on wrench' and torch'n! You can try anything (at least once)! If it looks dangerous, some around here might tell ya (those who've lived to tell the tale)! And one last thing...... There's an old proverb: "The First Liar Doesn't Have a Chance!" Kidding, of course, there's folks here that have (and share) a wealth of knowledge! Welcome!
