So I just finished up mocking my new 32 frame under my 31. And the frame is out for Powdercoat right now. So what’s everyone’s opinion on chopping the top.

Don't do it! Full top rods are where it's at! Especially yours. Very nice!

  5. Section it.

I just wanted to be different. :D

In my minds eye if I were to chop it I would do it real mild, like say around 2". Just enough to give it a little savoir faire. But it is so subject to opinion isn't it.

from what I can see in the pics that body is a gem by the way. ;)

  6. Only you can decide that; but if you do chop it (which you should), don't get carried away in the inches.

    Nothing original about it
    Why worry now

  13. Leave it as it is for now, drive the shit outta it and have some fun, you can always chop it later. If I saw it at a show, I would be drawn to it because it`s different ( in a good way)

I wouldn't, but mostly based on how it's already got nice paint and glass and I wouldn't feel like redoing that. At some point you're better off to start with another body.

My brother said Don't chop my T coupe. Chopped it and now I feel a lot better. Now why do I get a capital D every time I use the word Don't?

Don't chop it- looks too good as is. If you want a chopped coupe then buy one that needs building.

I say "No" but already you have people on both sides of the fence so our opinions are pretty much worthless.

Two good comments there. It is a bit different than the norm as far as high boy coupes go right now.

From what I am reading between the lines if you really wanted it chopped it would already be chopped. I go along with the drive the tar out of it the way it sits and have fun until that day comes when you just have to chop it in the next freshen up phase.

  20. I am the guy that seems to always say don't chop it but the hiboy Model A's just look so much better chopped,if it were on the original chassis and had fenders I would have said no,don't chop it.

You can't argue with a visual image. HRP

Normally I'd be on the side saying "chop it!", but daaayyyyuuummmm, that look's great just as it is. I say leave it alone, get it together and drive it!

  26. I only say chop if you can make the chop look nice and clean in bare metal

    If not. Don’t do it

Get the seat in it and sit in it. See if you have any headroom issues as-is, OR visibility problems. I have a low seat in an unchopped '31 coupe and though I have plenty of headroom for a chop, I would NOT appreciate driving it with a chop. Unchopped it remains......
