  1. Our family trekked from oregon to Kansas in 1964 in an almost identical Pontiac> It was blast, a pretty good car until the right side A arm broke off in 1967! GM replaced it. I'd love to have one. Years ago I had to visit an elderly couple down in Orange County. They had an 100 % identical Catalina down to the Fingerhut waffle plastic seat covers! I mean IDENTICAL.

Roootie, that's a really interesting photo of the wire wheeled big car with some kind of flat head engine. I'm not an expert by any means but I don't recognize the engine at all; it seems like it has too many head bolts for anything I've seen before.

And the second attached photo shows Marshman and Parnelli running in 1962; looks like the track is Langhorne.

    Thanks for posting!!!

I'm no expert on the old flatties either but I'm thinking maybe a Lincoln (?) I'm sure others will know for sure.

WHY do they always have to sit on top of the damned car. Can't they just stand beside it?

I was always a big Pontiac fan, and I still am BUT, we replaced a bunch of timing chains and gears on 60's Pontiacs. One guy I worked said they must have made them out of melted down model car plastic. Come to think of it I was no fan of the slim-jim transmissions either:rolleyes:

We used to have an A and P store here in Dearborn...
I think it folded in the early 80's.. We also had a Farmer Jack.. That went belly up also...
