This is my new project that is ready but there are only a few small things I want to do while I own it. Just sold my Topolino Hot Rod and bought this 1928 Roadster.. would actually buy a Ford 34 coupe but found this and then I became new owner of this Roadster. Have tried it a little bit now on late autumn and it's a very nice car to drive. And now I just waiting for spring.. The Topolino is cool, but it dosent have a Hemi. Nice swap, you did great. What plans for change are you thinking?
nice find, I love the custom rod look... looks to have started life as a '28-'29 coupe or sport coupe, longer door, cockpit combing raises from the door back, roadster runs parallel for a few inches... don't get me wrong, I prefer the longer doors and larger cockpit... the metalwork looks great [ pitman arm]... enjoy it, it looks great.
The engine is No. 1, start cleaning engine and install new carburettor and adjust engine to smooth. Fix to the brake pipe and some small things that make it look better.
Just my opinion, but those whitewalls don't do anything for that car. Kind of makes it look like a girl's rollerskate from back in the day .
Love your rod over all,nice an very cool ! Like every owner or builder I did my own 28"A" roadster my way back in 1959,I like shiny a lot and hate cowel steering,more so done badly,both things are EZ fixs. Great vid ! Cool
So Mikael it looks as if your having fun with it which is what its all about. Hows the Hotrod performing? It looks great from this angle and that was a beautiful location for a video.
does look cool, with that "track" nose, I would be tempted to try fitting a hood, at least a hood top..... but on the other hand, that would cover that motor, can't do that. I don't know, maybe just cut up some cardboard and see how it would look.
I must take issue with those that think this is not a "roadster". Closed cars did not have a "reveal" down the front of the "A" pillar, nor along the bottom of the body (below the door). The top door hinge of a roadster is below the upper body wide reveal. The corresponding hinge on closed cars (middle hinge) is directly on the reveal. When I refer above to closed cars, it includes the fabric topped sport coupe (which does not have a reveal running behind the doors, crossing the body above the "trunk" lid). By "roadster", I'm including roadster pickups, and "tourers". As for the door length and reveal shape behind the doors? Good observation; maybe the builder did this, extending the door and shortening the aft section of the body. Also, there have historically been many minor differences between domestic Ford bodies, and those built abroad. I guess only Mikael is in a position to resolve this question. On the other hand, who cares if it was once a coupe? It's a terrific rod!
To clarify my previous statement, the Sport Coupe did have a reveal across the body above the trunk (as I discovered at a car show this morning), but appears to be a removable piece that goes on after the fabric is nailed to a wooden rail. I noticed several "restored" (not "rodded") cars (in Google images) of this model do not have this reveal.

not me! not in a discriminatory sense and definitely not in a derogatory sense....the point of my comment was more informational since @Mikael Göransson just bought it...you've mentioned a few differences but in fact the differences between model A coupe/Dr./sport and roadster panels are actually numerous once you know them. Instead of trying to recreate the roadster behind seat"reveal" the builder chose a smaller more refined size that I really dig...the shorter 1/4s longer doors make for a much more comfortable ingress/egress, and as you observed the door pillars are roadster so they added a reveal at the door/1/4 bottoms for continuity...don't get me wrong i'ts a sweet roadster!
