Customs 1957 chevy interior kit suggestions???

I honestly don't spend time reading the forum rules. Just wanted to share what I was working on to spark some conversation and mutual builds, etc.

I am happy, just want to talk car stuff, That's it. Someone could give me some advice on what power steering box to use....i could tell someone how to wire an LS engine, etc. All you are doing by rejecting conversations about an upgrade is limiting your capabilities. And for what?

The aftermarket 605 box is the cats tits. I cant remember the brand of mine, but its a stock box and a 605 box adapted together and all newly machined guts. Simple install and works great. Just remove the picture of your smallblock with the electronic carb. I love seeing another 210

 

I agree with that statement. The bondo crumbling off the rear wheel well makes me wonder how much steel there is left in that body.

Yeah, at some point 30 plus years ago some bad body work was done. I peeled some of it back to find some galvanized patches that were pop riveted in place. It's gonna require new quarters at some point and new door skins. Everything else seems to be ok

I have no personal problem with an LS, but you keep grinding it into everyone's face here. Not cool. There are rules here for a reason, while I don't always agree with some, I show my respect for the good guys that run this joint.

 

Man, that's kinda scary. Hows the underside look? hows the floor when you lift the carpet? How about the rear wheelwells in the trunk area?

Solid stuff there. Usually the pans are absent. How are the body braces?

 

Body braces good, frame is excellent. I have documentation of the body being removed in 1984. They cleaned and painted the frame, installed new body mounts and rebuilt the engine. At some point, somebody did that shitty body work though

Those quarters may be in better shape than they look. Soda blasting would reveal all without damage.

 

This is the only thread I turned up on '57 Chevy interiors. Resurrecting it to ask a question about 1957 2 door sedan rear armrests. Hope the OP is keeping the hood closed on the HT. It's a good car and he's working hard on it.
Apparently, the rear armrest assemblies for 1957 Chevrolet cars are not reproduced. 1955 -1956 units are, however. Could someone tell me the differences? Originality isn't important, as my car is extensively modified. Specifically, are the screw holes spaced the same? That would help a lot, as I could simply use the earlier units. Thanks everyone.

 

Just drill new holes if the screw holes are different. Not a big deal.

 

Yeah, that's the obvious thing to do. The sheet metal plate actually has tabs welded on them for the screws. So if it's different I'll have to move them. No big deal. I guess I really want to see the difference, before spending $135 per side on them. Thanks Stanlow69
