Hey moose I'm picking this car up this week. I was seen if you could put some wide white walls on it with some caps. lowered skirted with some lake pipes. Maybe gold paint with black roof or any colors you think might look good. Thanks in advance. 1955.jpg

Agreed. This was a company that was in decline at this time and basically worked with what it had with no consideration to design. Hence, a car front end mated to a truck bed. Engineer wise it works but design wise it didn't.
For me, the issue of clunkiness could have been overcome with a few modifications. A) the rear fender could have been leveled off or rotated so that the top was level and not sloping downward. B) Rouding off the bottom of the bed so that it matched the bottom of the cab and rounding of the top edge of the back of the bed. Basically getting rid of the angularity.
C ) Continue the indentation from the cab all the way through the bed. In essence pulling it together so that the bed complimented the cab.

But, that's just my opinion and we all have one.

Thank you @themoose and @madfish. I might just have to keep an eye out for a cheap Champ, I think I'd like to experiment with this in steel. Thanks again for the visual.

To your point I wonder what the quarter panels off of a Lark wagon would look like grafted onto the bedsides similar to what Dodge did with their fleetside pickups in 1958, just for the sake of continuety with the front end.

With all this proposed cutting sheetmetal, you could just work with what came with the truck.

OK, since we are all asking, how about a little down in the stern, and add some saltflats with blackwalls, please...

This one by Madfish looks really "right" to me. This truck would look good in a two-tone paint scheme. Maybe white over light green or red. That gold color does nothing for it. But these new body lines look very natural.

The Studebaker Champ pickup bed looks awkward because it's a Dodge bed! Studebaker was so broke they couldn't afford to create new tooling and just bought old Dodge stamping tools.

Studebaker did make their own front panel (to better match the curvature of the rear of the cab) and tailgate, however.

  21. Could someone make this two seater into a single seater? And enough cowl for the footwell? I cut it to where the footwell is to rear of the body... I'm just kicking ideas around. 20180704_233329.jpeg

Sent from my SM-N950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app[/QUOTE]What I'm asking for is a single seat race car body using the blueprints.... much like from the race of gentlemen or earlier... just using the shell as a starting point for a body to be put on another chassis.... to be clear.
