Earlier this spring my wife and I were garage saleing, she can usually find something, me..well the good finds are few and far between, we still have a good time. There was a wheel and tire (brand new tire) and the guy asked me if I would take it. It was left in a rental they own and he had no use for it. It was even a Ford bolt pattern, it will fit on the Studebaker so what more could I ask. FREE. My favorite price.

Yeah, I get it. Congrats! I paid $200 for mine (that I still have) 47 years ago. But the last one (5 yrs ago) was 2.5 times what I paid for my 1st house! Nice score!

It was a buck at the North Lake Drive 100 mph Club meeting swap table. That it matches my hot rod gauges is plus but it's a reminder that my life is half full, not.... 20180626_203710-1.jpeg

  8. Two weekends ago score sold them last weekend.
The guys who bought them are putting a Model B in one. The second may get a V8-60 or a 59-AB.

I live in farm country and go to farm sales. Farmers like to build hay wagons using car frames. I got one for $30 wood floor was bad tires shot the good part it was built using a 32 ford frame and front axle. Other buys are ford pickup bed trailers many have 9 inch axles.

I picked up a 354 CI money pit. One cylinder needs to be sleeved, but it's a short bellhousing industrial engine. I'm pretty stoked. 20180626_200523.jpg

Weekend? Well, I did a "lap of Texas". Left Houston after work Friday, went through San Antonio and scored a 10-bolt and a couple of Pontiac heads "free" off Craigslist. Turns out the guy has a carb business, can rebuild my 4GC and even had a kit on hand. Then on to my in-laws near Uvalde to crash the first night. Got up Saturday at 6 and drove to Alpine to meet up with JOYFLEA and loaded up his extra '38 frame I had bought weeks prior. Had a great time looking at his projects and shop. Then fired up and drove to El Paso to pick up the front half of another '35-'37 frame with axle and wishbones off of Craigslist. (nearly have a roller now!) Then from El Paso I drove to our family place near Burnet, arrived about 2:30 a.m.. Long day. Unloaded all the frame stuff Sunday morning, then drove to Dallas to pick up two MORE pairs of Pontiac heads. I needed these to be able to run the '62 Tri-power intake I have. Left Dallas and drove back to Houston. Dang. 1867 miles. Anybody need Pontiac heads?

What are your plans for the shoebox? Looks pretty nice for a project seed.
