Alright! She's officially back on all fours! Got all the brakes on today, I will be working on finishing the primer, I got distracted doing some body work on the rear fender, but will be finishing that up shortly! I know its extremely dirty, but it will be getting washed again soon too! 20180625_205749.jpeg 20180625_205729.jpeg

They are true spokes. We had them on an old jag that we had. We ended up taking the motor and axles out of the jag to put under a 38 Ford, I took the wheels. Some of them are in rough shape. But they will clean up with some time and elbow grease.

Some good progress being made, glad to see it back on its own feet, and those wires look a lot better than I would have thought under it!

We finally started digging into the body of my buddy's 58 edsel over the last week, pleasantly surprised at the state of the floors for the most part, though I could put my hands through some of the holes in the rear seat floor. Have you gone through the front steering and suspension yet? We're looking to do it sooner than later before the engine goes in but trying to find a pretty complete front end kit, leaning towards one from Kanters.

I have gone through and greased up all the fittings and wire brushed it and painted it with fish oil paint. Everything looks pretty good actually. It has been driving on it's own power and we have not heard any alarming sounds. But my oil pan does need to be fixed as it is pushed in, so we will be pulling the motor soon to fix that. I will be painting the firewall and everything else at that time as well. Hoping to have it registered and to a show in September.

Not yet, I will need to get that done too. I don't even remember the last time they have been trued and these wheels have been around the house as long as I have.

I put a new fuel pump on it and it runs just fine. I've been moving it around with a five gallon gas can on the fender:) I was able to get a neck for the fuel tank from the junkyard up by me (I pulled it out of another edsel) but the tank I took off my car is fine, so I think I'm going to try and seal the neck and the tank together for now.

I'm hoping so! I want it at the show in September! So I'm just getting it drivable to there and then I can start really working on it. This show in September is like a the biggest show in town, so I want to start my journey of a show car.

I think the very best tank sealer is sold by POR15. Follow the instructions.

So I have made the choice to temporarily paint it for this show as I am going to have to sand it a 100 times anyways. But here it is turquoise;)this is a first base coat so it's not very thick but just to keep you updated! 20180629_163600.jpeg

The skirts may look best when they are body color

  22. That's one straight body ! ....no rust or dings down that driver's side.
If you get enough paint on there like you did that right quarter panel, it could wet sand and polish out nicely! Back in the day, not every one had down draft paint booths and 3000 grit sand paper at their disposal.

It's just the rear quarter on the driver's side that has some major rust, but that's an easy fix. Overall it's a pretty nice body! And yes. I am getting more paint ordered in to do a second coat.

Thank you! And while most of this work right now is temporary, it's nice to get a good picture of what it will be like done.
