shim pack 3 002.JPG moved on to aligning the front end .aiming for 4 degrees negative castor 0 degrees camber 1/8 total toe front.drilled and wired the shim pack used ARP bolts and locknuts.got my own stainless shims cut id recommend many thin shims over less rigid thicker shims will conform much easier

sanded the floorboards to seal the underside.kin hell almost six years since I varnished the top side .yesterdat I was painting the underside of the boards black, but now I spotted the date I will be varnishing it. routered the boards with numbers so I could replace them where I found them..once these boards are sealed and dry they will be bolted home.

the cills straightened out ok ,bubba thanx

ordered the demon rebuild kit from summit on mon 2 days on nothing much happening according to the tracking.if we had the kit were confident we ll have it running well.its firing up easy and idling well.spal fan didn't cut in on the thermostat like I expected it to..yet.
however the first small spin,up/dowh the road isn't too far off.

significant day today after over 7 years we got it running acceptably and it moved under its own steam..felt good to be driving at long last.went around the block and back over the pit.
leaking power steering fluid---fixed that one
leaking water from lower rad hose at the rad---fixed that one with hjgh quality clamp, tightened with 1/4 drive ratchet
leak at the sacrificial anode ----removed it re taped it tightened it up.another snag sorted
issue with the thermostat on the spal fan.its coming on early and staying on.not resolved yet waiting for a call from the sparks.
first job tomorrow is inspect the thermostat and drill a 1/8 hole in it,or clean or replace depending on condition.,find a keyring for the spare key before it goes west.
feels good to be nearly back on the road.
need to write another to do list
theres plenty to put on it.
some of the neighbours hadn't seen it before liked the look and loved the rumble off it.and no its not a rat rod and yes I do have the drivers door
