  3. Ryan great car and with 3 Carbs( (HAHa getting blind when I said 3 97's) it got to be a big GMC 270/302 that really halls, my friend has a similar engine in a 40 GM truck it does 100 in the 1/8 mile. rods are the issue with these.

  4. Just received my new Hop Up in the mail, vol 14, no. 1. It has an article about this car, it has been put back on the track.
Good timing on both publications part I'd say.

  5. I freakin love it; a truly period-correct time capsule... and it validates rat rods. Absolutely priceless. And important. Take note rodent haters.

  7. Validate rat rods ?? Go slam your head in your ass again.

Your rat rods lack style, and substance. This car is a track car, many times over. There is nothing on the car more dangerous, than it's driver. How you substantiate a competitive, purpose built race car, to several piles of shit into a car/rat rod is beyond me.

I'm usually not the merit of insult, but I have been versed in truths. You sir, are ignorant. No offense meant. Just means empty of knowledge, and experience. It's not the end of the world ..... but good luck !!

Rat rod music is a vermin symphony.

  12. I thought it had to have rebar, skulls and spider webs to be a rat?
Maybe a pressure cooker air cleaner.

The only Folks that would consider this a rat are folks that do not understand hot rods
Actually fans of both can see the beauty in this old race car
It wasn’t intentially built to look “rustic”. It just shows it’s age well

The trans I believe is a 36 Chev Master top shifting 3 speed. They're the only ones that have the bolted on tailhousing. The car runs a banjo Ford rear so the torque tube is spliced or is a special racing one that combines the ford rear flange and the Chevy slip yoke/torque ball. I don't think the rear is quick change in the sense people use now. However the Chevy torque tube having the slip yoke allows pulling the trans without pulling the rear end like you'd have to on a Ford setup. More importantly IMHO it gets rid of the bind inherent to the Ford setup when the bones are split.
