FYI, I've had 2 of those regulators leak on me and spray fuel all over the engine compartment. Just a heads up....

Edward... Loved your whole build. Was a little 'anxious' at what you started with...and the direction you were headed! But 'Get There'...you did. Congrats.
I must say, if you built it over here, it would have been much simpler. But you did it there... amazing!
Just a note on the front fenders...Suppose you soaked them in HOT water, put them gently in your press, and slightly arced them around the tires? Not completely, just a 'mild arc'?
Have a great time. The little roadster seems to act nicely in traffic.

Looks like a cool project and car. I confess there are times I am VERY envious of you guys north of the border. I cannot even begin to think about the hassle of getting an Austrian Einzelgenehmigung ("one-off type approval" for the few who do not speak German) for a car like this. It CAN be done but it would be a massive pain.

Re. radiator, there are UK specialists who can repair it and may be cheaper than the German ones, it's worth shopping around.

 

It passed inspection so tomorrow morning I'm going to try to get it registered.

I know that's not the final radiator, but will the real deal radiator sit lower (to eliminate the upward slope of the hood from the cowl to the nose)?

 

Wow. Thanks for the Photoshop. It looks fantastic. I love the rear fenders too. And the hood sides. I am sorely tempted to do this. Maybe next year eh!

Yes. The temporary radiator wouldn't go down any further and it's a bit higher than the original brass Model-T radiator. I have to run this radiator this year as I can't afford to have the brass radiator rebuilt this year.

I think @Ruben Duran in that pretty awesome fwd vision of your creativity did implement what @Atwater Mike suggested to the fender. It does look fitting.

I also however still like the unarced fenders. You have to make that call. Both options were viable period options.

Henry's favorite colour looks pretty spiffy I will say...great job again on this @edwardlloyd.

 

Just had an idea. I could apply gloss black foil to the body. That way I can always go back if I want to.

Gave it the curvier T fenders.....

 

It looks amazing Ruben. Now I'm really torn. You see, normally my cars are built to look Factory Fresh which I prefer. With the T I wanted to try something more earthy and oily.

It's actually really good to drive. Sportier than an A. Accelerates good and gets to 55mph. Steering and suspension feel good. I'm going to register it today so will be able to get some fine tuning and testing done.

Amazing results. Henry Ford would be proud. (Does it still smell like pizza? just kidding). I wonder what year is the cut off for when cars became a very hard , thin gauge unworkable sheet metal? I know a 1960's car I am working in the USA is easy to work dents out with hammer and dolly. I also know my 2005 Dodge minivan hatch was impossible to hammer out , very, very hard, metal became stressed and cracked, wound up buying a new hatch for that one. So somewhere from 1969-2005 there was a transition...

 

Early 2000s. I think you'll find most 90s steel is workable. Which is good because that's the roundy stuff we need.

I took it for a test drive today. I think it may need rejetting. Any suggestions? When I open the throttle above about 70% I get a backfire in the carb.

I always thought that through the exhaust backfire was because the cylinder fired when the exhaust valve was open and through the carb backfire was because the cylinder fired when the intake valve was open. Leading me to believe that you have a timing problem.

Minds more knowledgeable than mine will probably chime in with better suggestions, though.

 

Yes. I think you're right. I'm going to reset the timing next.

WOW, from sliced up pizza truck to cool little runabout in not too long of a time. Knocked it out of the park there! Swoopy fenders and shiny black really seal it, but im sure DRIVING it as is pegs out the fun meter as well.

 

Notice that he fixed the hood line too.
