Yup, got mine titled too thanks to coaching from the lady behind the desk. Thought I was doomed but was able to pull it off. Like Mike B said, loose lips sink ships, so I'll leave it at that. Now, with a MA title, registering it will be a cakewalk when I'm ready.

I’ve watched his channel for some time now. That and also Weld.com. His channel is great too.
They have both certainly raised my confidence while learning. I’m very comfortable with the Tig now.
Learning small tricks each day as I go.

    Thank you for sharing.

Haven’t really touched the sedan in a few weeks. Been enjoying the nice weather we finally got blessed with.
But today the Machine shop called and my 39 rear is all rebuilt and ready to be picked up.
Man, I can’t wait to get it together and roll my car outside ... it will be great to be able to stand back and look at it in the driveway.

Over a month of working long days, working in the yard, other off topic vehicles and just enjoying my family and being “okay” not working on the hotrod... I made a promise to myself last week that Sunday/Monday of Memorial Day weekend I would get some things off my plate.
I went into the garage with a lot of enthusiasm and even more confidence this am and made some things happen.

I removed the mock-up 39 rear axle and swapped the spring onto the freshly rebuilt 39 rear.
Mounted my backing plates and wheels/tires

    IMG_1170.JPG

Because of the stepped rear frame, 39 spring behind banjo and the channeled body I needed to Notch the frame to get suspension clearance.
    IMG_1168.JPG
    IMG_1172.JPG
I used my Eastwood Versa cut plasma to cut the frame for the 4.5” section of pipe Joe (51Box) had given me a few weeks back.

I decided to move the rear radius rods I built last year inward between the frame rails to make my life my easier.
I purchased this really cool setup off Pinewoodflyer (Stephan Hokuf) on Instagram
He makes them and they incorporate F1 front shock mounts
Really slick setup (limited quantity) if you like them and need a set reach out to him.
He sells them with and without the f1 shock mount.

    IMG_1189.JPG IMG_1190.JPG IMG_1193.JPG
I still need to bolt the f1 mounts and mount my shocks.
After I cut the bungs off the front of my radius rods, I shortened them to the new length. I installed and new set of threaded bungs then heated and bent things to make the radius rods work inside the frame rails. After that I bolted everything together.

I then rolled my car out of the garage for the first time ever.

The car sits a little low in the ass... but I’m okay with it for now.
I’ll be tweaking the height as I go.

Also ordered some new tires for the sedan
7.50 -16’s and 6.00-16’s Firestone Whitewalls to be mounted on my set of 40 Ford Wheels.

    Was a good day.

Holy crap!!! Epic post Mike!! Good for you for putting family first!

You should think about building the façade of an old garage front behind the pump and sign. Would that look so cool?

My life revolves around my kids...my greatest gifts
My daughter was very kind to me yesterday allowing me to focus on the car for the day yesterday.
I've thought about it quite a bit actually, Paul.
With the way the wind blows here this past year made me nervous with the major wind storms we had.
But I've got a call out on some telephone poles to bury in the ground to build from.
    Stay tuned !
Thank you btw. Felt great pushing it outside.

Looks the balls, kiddo! Who's the model ya got sitting in your car?? Can't wait for the day you fire it up- the first drive is always the best ( even when you discover parts in the road on the way back, lol). Toss up for 1st build between you and Ben- you both hit it outa da park!

That’s Alli. “My Human Herpie” as I like to call her ... can’t seem to get rid of her. Lol.
Oh there’s my romantic side showing through again
You’ll meet her in Jersey. Hope you’re bringing earplugs (hint hint)

I wouldn't be so sure! I love my dog but I totally call him all sorts of insults of endearment and he just kinda assumes I mean him and responds to it.

The car is looking killer! What's next?

I may cut the frame and add an inch or two after the step to get the tire and fender well alignment. Visually it doesn’t work even though mechanically at this time it does... but I won’t be happy if the look isn’t what I want.

The list is getting shorter Mike. You have a few big items left BUT remember what it looked like when you hauled it home!

The Mercury is getting lower and the days are getting shorter.
So it’s time to get reacquainted with my family hotrod

There have been a couple additions to my hotrod family this summer, so there’s been no lack of garage time.

    1928 Roadster
    [IMG]
1930 Coupe (The Brad Barrows Coupe)

I’ve got them both put up for the winter to make some room in the garage to get the sedan moving along.

Mounted the fuel block a little different than some people ... but I like how it looks.

Also mocked up a front spreader bar from the bus aisle handle. The same bus I got the front seats out of.
I thought it was stainless but it’s chromed...

Tacked for now and inserted rivnuts in some cut down washers.

I’ll tape and paint the ends so you won’t see the bare metal and welds.
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
Swapping out all my bottles later at airgas so I can Tig the end caps on this weekend and continue on with my list.
It’s a long one ... let the fun begin.

I didn’t want to add holes in the firewall so I used the two existing holes for the coil, with the D Nuts. I just drilled and tapped them to accept 1/4-20 bolts.

Fabricated a gusset for the steering hoop this afternoon with the limited time I had.
    [IMG][IMG]
Tacked it in place, will weld it when I pull things apart.
    On to the next

Nice to see the look of it with a makeshift hood top.
I’ll be lowering the grill shell and radiator before the winter is over...not quite the rake I’d hoped for

Yeah, said by the guy that helped me buy ANOTHER car three weeks after I sold one cause I needed space!! Sick buncha puppies! But I’m OK with that- I used to wonder what was wrong with me, the Doctor said” You need more iron in your diet!” Thanks , Doc.
No build thread on this one though, I’m going to focus on knitting so I don’t offend anyone! Or maybe start a “Boy Band”? Everyone have a great Christmas and New Year! Uncle Mike
