That Hupmobile needs a haircut. Where is the Moose when you need him?

Think I found the other half of this car. I'm more confident now it is a '37 DeSoto.

I'm no DeSoto expert, but the hood ornament and the position of the headlights relative to the hood line, still say '37 to me.

    Chappy,

I had a '37 Coupe Express, which was Studebaker's small pickup from '37 - '39 that shared the same front sheet metal as the their Dictator cars, and I can tell you that while the front fenders kind of look like '37 fenders there probably isn't one square inch of sheet metal on that...ahem...creation, that is original Studebaker sheet metal.

  22. Yeah... it's a Posies rod...sold at sotherby's in 2010 for $137,500.
Knowing Ken the inspiration for this car probably came from a train, an old Cord, and the design on a lamp shade in a motel 6...
Having said that, its art deco... the art deco execution and craftsmanship are spot on.

Thanks for posting this '37 Ford rack body truck! When I was a kid growing up in the 1950's an exact twin to this one was in the field across the street. Some time in the early 1960's a guy showed up with a new Chevy chassis and the rack body went on it, that was the beginning of the end of the old Ford. Bob
