    upload_2018-5-27_15-41-47.png Lefty Mudersbach... So Cal
    Hey Gary,
Nice photo post of one of the quickest twin-engine SBC race cars in So Cal and elsewhere. Lefty (Allen) Mudersbach was one of the top racers in So Cal. But, for some reason, his exploits were noted at Lions Dragstrip almost every weekend. This twin SBC motor FED must have some power to do this off of the starting line. (Lefty was a heck of a driver, too.)

During our time at Lions Dragstrip, the most anticipated match race was the Mudersbach Twin against Jack Chrisman in the Howard Cam SBC twin. The lead in, with the push trucks all the way to the half way mark, double turnarounds, and then the fire ups approaching the staging area was something. Everyone was on their feet for this match race.

Lefty Mudersbach and his twin SBC racecar was something to see at the So Cal race tracks and remember. Sadly, he was killed in 1966.

Watching Mudersbach’s inline twin race at Lions, Riverside and Bakersfield from 58-60 gave us many ideas/thoughts that SBC motors could be powerful enough to win in any class.

Check out: http://twotogo.homestead.com/ for other information and photos of Lefty Mudersbach...

Bayer & Frietas dual Chevy digger. I remember when Hayden Proffitt took a turn in the seat of this dragster, prior to going to work for M/T and the Pontiac Super Stocks. I'm thinking this was about 1960-1961...

I've always been a big fan of the Indy 500 and I look forward to it every year! Just compare the old roadster days steering wheel compared to the steering wheels of the modern day Indy racers with enough technology built into them for a lunar landing .... Indy Racer Cockpit copy.jpg
