  9. There is one of these exact trailers sitting on one of our satellite campus' here in Tucson .I have been eyeing it since I started working here. 1946 Curtis Wright. It is pretty beat. I will take a picture of it tomorrow. I wish I could get it and do what you are doing. State property is very hard to acquire.

That’s actually sort of a big deal trailer. You ought to at least try.

Yes A product call tremco 626 I am pretty sure they use it on semi truck trailer roofs which leads me to thinking I have seen everything from white caulking to silicone to seal the front and rear windows. I use a modern window and vent seal tape It is similar to plumbers putty but comes in a roll. The windows are a chore to put in there are about 60 metal screws for trim and 60 nuts, bolts and washers. once you drill all the holes and start the nuts you go round and round till its nice and snug. The Clipper is coming along nicely. The rear windows will be installed tomorrow hopefully shoot rivets Saturday

Awesome job Johnny. Is that pic of a "barn find"?

Ryan- didn't Curtis-Wright make tools also? I think I have a CW speed wrench I found in the cab of my AD pickup. I fancy it was borrowed from the tool crib at the Wichita factory....

  16. It's full of crap and the farmers have used it for years. I want it and will continue to investigate. Extra newer windows have been hacked into it(sides) but I would have to do what you are doing. Fortunately I have aircraft skin experience from Northrup and Boeing so it's not outside my wheel house to take of skins and replace screwed up areas. I never got over to that farm on Friday. Will get pics next week as I will be working right next to it. Does yours have the CW aerospace tag to the right of the door and serial number? This one does.

No... This one is a silver streak... which is the company that CW sold the design to in 1949 or so...

  18. I'm thinking the one here is bit shorter than yours. Is there a souce for checking numbers? I can get the serial number and maybe find out more about it.

Ok back on track sometimes its fun to pay around with a patch for a vintage Travel Trailer. Silver Bullet had an old battle scar so Miller decided to go with a TEXAS patch. If your wondering about Silver Bullet Thats the trailers name and we will refer to him by his name. I will have to post pictures later? Ryan show em

  22. I had no idea that you were going to make an actual patch in the shape of the state. Cool. Now it needs some lettering to set it off.

If it's shorter, it could be an Airstream Wee Wind or Trade Wind. Does it only have one window on the front and back instead of two like mine?

If that's the case, the value is crazy high... Like really crazy.

And now the interior cap is all fixed up... John has really been killing it on this deal. Weird feeling watching someone work so hard when I'm all laid up after surgery. Makes me feel super lazy...
