Event Coverage Welcome to the 2018 Meltdown Drags

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Okiedoker, Oct 12, 2017.

  1. Progress is progress small or large. The Dodge has done a good job of kicking our ass (Dad and I)the last several weeks. The Hemi is fighting tooth and nail to not run. First it was ignition problems, and fuel issues of all varieties. Now it just wants to backfire through the carbs and piss us off like that's its only purpose. Meanwhile the Valiant waits its turn quietly in the corner for a bunch of small issues, and now my wife is starting to complain about not enough "us" time. There just aren't enough days in the week. I'm sure feeling like time is running out to get this hunk of crap running. Sorry for the rant!

If you haven't see them yet I posted several photos of the original Rebel Rouser in the Altered thread (I think) sometime back.

I feel your pain,Man.If it wasn’t for all of life’s other “pressing issues”,we could have had these things wrapped up months ago....
Hoping to get the pedals back in it tonight, and if all goes well, the engine/trans hauled out of it too.
    After that,it’s all downhill.

    Dwayne:
All those old pics your Family got of the Rouser over the years are pretty amazing. To have a car so cool not only survive to be restored, but be meticulously documented, and kept in the Family, that’s just too cool!

Was there a sponsor for the meltdowns selling diapers? My car isn’t that fast but I don’t want to be the oil slick guy

Running a header crankcase evac system and been told that NHRA rules may have been changed this year requiring a minimum 1 gal breather tank with baffles into the system to prevent oil from getting sucked into the headers.

Anyone else know of this new rule, seems like a good idea.

So far I have only found small breather tanks with two 3/8 fittings. nothing 1 gal with baffles and four 1/2 or 5/8 nipples.
    Anyone know who makes one?

Just goo to your local drive shaft shop and snag some scrap aluminum shaft tube and have some sharp tech student whip you one up. :)

  12. blown alcohol and nitro cars require a one gallon puke tank. I'm not sure on the pan evac.

Scott if You think those are big you should see his intake manifold that goes on top the runners are in perfect alignment that won't be any kind of a slouch like he wants you to think it will be lol
