Hot Rods Rubber floor mats

I have rubber floor mats front to back in my '46 Station Wagon. In the past I have used tire cleaner/dressing to make them look good. The tire dressing makes the mats too shiny and slippery. Any suggestions.

 

Lestoil. It will not only clean them it will take all the old dead rubber off. The black will run off and they will look like new. It will soften the rubber if left on a while too. That's all I use on tires too.

 

i have had good luck with 303 Protectant.

 

I have uses "Wash Wax All" with good effect.

 

I use Simple Green,cleans up nice and mats look natural when dry.

 

Remember when you'd spray Armor-All on your BFG T/A's and they turned brown.

..............I honestly didn't know that stuff was still around.

 

I keep a good supply of it. Smells like it should be outlawed.. I have softened several sets of rubber floor mats with it. And a unmounted tire that was crushed flat sitting under an engine in the back of a truck for years. Brushed it on and let it sit in the sun, repeat couple times a day for about two weeks. The tire took shape and holds air. It is a very very hard to find brand {Pennsylvania} and I wanted it for a spare that will never hit the road.

 

I'd like to get a small bit of it, not something I would use much of, I have a shift boot that needs to be softened up, it had been in the wrapper for years.

 

My old timey grocery store still sells it. Come to Hershey this Oct. for the AACA show..

 

I can barely afford a Hershey bar.
