Thanks for all the compliments guys all I did was supply a vision to the Barillaro brothers of the hot rod I wanted, they made it a reality. The credit is all theirs! Also I wanted to post a photo with the hood off to show off that Y block that Mike built. If anyone is wondering I am going to run either 41 or 48 hub caps, haven't decided yet. 20180504_160337 (2).jpg

Beautiful! The car has perfect lines. Chop, etc., not overdone.

IMG_1428.JPG IMG_1429.JPG IMG_1430.JPG Beautiful coupe. Those boys do great work. Their "A" roadster was parked in front of me a few weeks ago in Charlotte.

Better take a look at how sano the underside of the Y Brock coupe is now, because I doubt it will stay this way for long. It was built to be driven hard and will be. My old A coupe went to a new home yesterday, I hated to part with it but I don't have room in the garage or budget for two hot rods. 20180507_170547.jpg 20180507_170637.jpg C (14).jpg

Take note here, this is an exercise when simplicity becomes simply stunning.

That's excellent advice that I intend to follow to the max! It's not quite ready for a full road test yet but we couldn't resist a little loud pedal test in the alley.

4 1/2 INCH CHOP, the details of the build can be seen in the build thread titled "The Y Brock Coupe"
The rear view is deceiving because the rear window opening was made to be the same height as the 1/4 windows.

  15. ...........................Yet another fabulous detail that the guys incorporated into this build. Well thought out, well planned and exquisitely executed.

Yep, we know we made a misstep, the WIX will go on at the break in oil change.

Barillaro Speed finished the Y Brock coupe today, Mike and Jim drove it about 25 miles for it's shake down cruise to make sure everything was dialed in. They reported that it was good to go, no issues. I picked it up from the shop late in the afternoon and quickly hit the road to see for myself. Five miles in I knew they had nailed it! Great road feel and handling, awesome sound, and looks to kill. I put 50 miles on it and its perfect all around, then I had to head home to show the Mrs. where all the money went. It will be on the road again in the morning for who knows how long, I plan for it to need it's break in oil change before next week end. Then it's off to the upholstery shop. I can't say enough about the exceptional quality of the work that the Barillaro brothers turn out. Look for the Y Brock coupe at Bowling Green, Shades, and other events this summer. 20180511_171627.jpg

Fortunate yes, lucky no. Luck had nothing to do with it, I worked till I was seventy one to save the money to fund my retirement and still be able to have the Barillaro's build this for me. I was fortunate enough to find a solid original car at a reasonable price, I am extremely fortunate to have the Barillaro brothers as close friends and very fortunate to have an understanding wife who encouraged me to pursue my dream of owning a top quality hot rod. Luck is finding that 32 three window in the barn on the property that your uncle left you, fortunate is having the opportunity to bust your ass make good things happen to you.

I applaud your "behavior" Friday night at A.S.S. Now I know where all the 45 fin Buick drums went to! LOL You guys and your coupes are what this thing of ours is all about. Hope to see y'all at the Bayou Roundup in Lafayette in Oct. Did the dude with the broken front shock mount get home O.K. ? I'm sure he did.

VERY well stated, garage2small. Luck comes into play at the gaming table in Las Vegas. LOVE the Model A. As someone already alluded to, your ride is the poster child of hotrod Model A's
