I ordered some trivial pieces from M/C and rec the wrong pieces. Called them today to get it fixed. What a great retail place. Said they would credit my account ,don't send it back, and your parts will be there tomorrow.
What a great way to do business.
    Thanks,
    jim

We ordered from them 2-3 times a week when I had my company. I cant remember a screw up on their part. If we ordered by 4 in the afternoon, parts were there the next morning for no additional charge and always in stock. Super company to deal with.

  4. Always good to hear nice things about a vendor instead of the usual negative feedback.

Great Company, will break box's for bolts w/o killing you on price/per and when I had my business account there they would give free me shipping with card payment with order. Big inventory/variety of products, excellent service, highly recommend.

I have been dealing with McMaster-Carr since the '60s and have never had any problems. I purchase all my hardware from them and save a bundle. In some cases I can buy a box of screws for what I would spend for a dozen in a hard ware store. It is amazing how many hot rod related items you can get from McMC. All sorts of fittings, muffler wrap, rubber etc. It is almost impossible to get a print catalog, it's almost 4" thick but the catalog is on line.

When I had a business I used to joke that I could get parts from McMaster Carr faster than I could get parts from my own stockroom. Great Company.

If they don't have it you don't need it. I supported a shop operation while I was in Kuwait and they kept me going when my own purchasing office couldn't.

They always do a good job a sorting things out. Even, when it's my fault.

Thumbs up for Mc Master Carr ….I was looking for a special sized fan assembly years ago that was not offered in that particular size their catalog. They called the supplier and had what I wanted shipped to me.
Great company, great service, great quality products.

When I ran the toolroom M-C was our go to, never had one issue in my twelve years in the crib. Their catalog is like a hardware bible, even used it to plan tooling strategies.

My first deal with them. looks like a go to company.
Thanks for all the positive replies

  18. I have a business account with them. I put in an order a couple of years ago, got my stuff. They emailed me a couple of days later, they had botched up the billing on their end and were asking me to re-submit my payment. Which I did. Very good to deal with and fast shipping.

  19. They are the closest match to a real old time mom and pop hardware store that you will find on the net.

not sure if anyone ever noticed, but on M/C's site a lot of the parts and hardware have 3-D CAD models for free use.

Difficult to beat their website design too. Several hundred thousand items and you can "drill" down to what you want in minutes and download drawings to boot.

I work for a manufacturing company and before that a prototype and appearance model shop. McMaster is my go to for work and for play. Sometimes I wander around their site when I'm trying to design a complicated mechanism just to see what else is out there in the world....

We work with Solidworks. Half of our hardware models are straight from McMaster.

  24. I ordered a gallon of some sort of rust converter and the guy on the phone said they can't ship that amount to California. Then he said but I can ship you 4) quarts and cut me a husk on shipping. Great place. Stoopid Komifornia.

  25. Been using them for awhile, great place......but if your anal about bolt heads (oval slotted for instance) and IF they don't have them, my second go to place is bolt depot. They're more expensive but you can buy weird stuff single or by the box.

I'll browse around their site to look for solutions . Sometimes I'll see something that might spawn and idea. It's like a big candy store:D Bill

  27. If you don't have McMaster-Carr saved as one of your 'favorites', you're missing a big bet. They're not always the cheapest, but I've never got junk from them and they're my 'go-to' for metals or other materials for fabricating. It's rare that they don't have what I'm looking for.

Love McMC! My partner 'Bonneville Butch; introed me to them when we were planning his 1,000 C.I. V-16 Streamliner. (the one with two 500 Caddies)
Some 'creative hardware' was in store, Butch had the 'hard copy' catalog, bigger than the original bible.
That was in the early '70s, hard to believe it was that long ago...

Just used them this week, for some hardware to better fasten this blasted Toyota P/S box to my otherwise 'On Topic' F100!

Great company! there's nothing like thumbing through that big old catalog of their's to find stuff you need and a bunch you didn't know you needed. Not to mention they're HAMB compliant founded in 1901. :D
