These show pictures are bringing back some sweet memories. The obvious West Coast ones, like with he guy in the Pendleton shirt behind the Ala Kart, have me looking for my friends and me. We were at all the Bay Area shows from the late 50s to early 70s. To see a car I've ridden in is really cool like Himsl's Dodge tub a couple of posts back. I can almost get the feeling of being there again. Thanks to all the posters. Does anyone know how slides can be put into a form that can be posted. My brother took hundreds of slides during that time and I can think of no better place for them than here. I'll have to wrestle then away from my nephews.

IF you have access to a 35mm digital camera there is an attachment that goes on the front of the camera that holds the slides at the best distance from the front of the lens (it is adjustable). Then you hold the camera toward the sun ( a light can be used but regular bulbs make the print have a yellow tint unless you use a filter to correct it) and snap a photo of what is on the slide.

Or if there is a real live photo shop in you area they can transfer them for you but I have no idea on the price.

Thanks I'll check that out and try to get my hands on the slides. I'm sure there are more than just shows on the slides and also drag and 1/4 midget 8mm movies.

  15. I LOVE that shoebox of Lenny Legere. Such a cool car, what the hell ever happened to that one?
BTW @loudbang I will be saving those to go with the other photos I have of it. THANK YOU!

I agree. Not many of the customs were also performance cars too back then. At leas to the extent of that one.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but I think you need to check a dictionary regarding the correct spelling and meaning of the words "definite" and "defiant". I only mention this to help everyone regarding clear communication.

Tickety Boo: The first reference I have ever found for American magnesium torque thrusts is the Dec ‘59 issue of Hot Rod magazine, page 12 ; in the “what’s new” section. It shows a picture of the original rounded spoke design that is undrilled for lug nuts.

There was a definite defiance involved in the '60s too. :D

About 5 years ago I bought this little box that had a USB port to plug into your computer and you slid the slide in and it adjusted the light from light to dark till you got the picture you wanted on the slide and you pushed enter and it saved the image. I bought it from one of those factory outlet places but I'm sure you can find them on ebay.
