Saved this for last: How often do you see a dealer selling new Fords and Chevys together in the same showroom? This was in 1955:

Ralph Owen, in the 1960’s was a motorcycle drag racer like many of his friends. In 1964 he sold this bike with the help of Marion Owens, of Oklahoma, and began working as pit crew for his buddy Clem Johnson. They remained the best of friends for life. Rootie the #10 Peugeot above is a cool shot. It appears to be Johnny Aitken at Indy (thought earlier Sheepshead) although not sure why the #10 on the radiator unless it was testing. Aitken was from Indy so not all that unusual maybe. No Indy races in 1917 or 1918 and two races in 1916, although Aitken ran with different numbers at both races. It may have been around the Astor Cup race on September 30, 1916 (as he ran and won with the #10 in that race). September of 1916 was a good month for Aitken as he won the 300 mile race at Cincinnati (car #11) on September 4, 1916, Indy in a 100 miler on September 9th (car #1) and won at Sheepshead Bay on September 30 with the 104.484 average for 250 miles ((car #10). Curious I suppose but the uprights on the grandstands appear to be Indy. A great racer who died in the influenza epidemic in 1918.
