    Actually it's a post war pic. In 47 it ran as the Bristow McManus #28 and in 48 it was a dnq as the Gustason car with Roland Free driving both years. The different numbering over the 2 years is really confusing though and I can't really explain it.

    Not necessarily. I'm 53 and I was going to ask the same question.
    I don't think it has to due with age so much as it does to not living in a big city

    I'm 75 and when I started out the apprentices got sent out every hour or so to rub all of the chalk marks off of the tires. Always a game of cat and mouse.
