The 59 is a Fairlane 500 which pre-dated the Galaxie, check out the top. Few and far between!

That old Plymouth is located near me. Im trying to track down the owner. Its not factory but its not too bad either. The worse part of it is it looks like they took the back of a pickup cab and grafted it onto the chopped remains of a sedan. That part is actually well done. The bad part is they didn't blend in the sweep at the bottom of the doors with the back of the cab. Its rather blunt. I still like it though. Engine is definitely shot. Been sitting like this for some time with the carb open to the elements.

Fenders remind me of a Stude pick up.

  7. They look early 40's Chevy to me....

  8. I wonder if the rear fenders might belong to the original Plymouth car. And, the bed makes me wonder if it might have come from a contemporary Dodge pickup.

The back of the cab is a 39-41 chevy truck, not sure on the box but probably from same truck.

The box looks like it's mounted way too high on the frame.

Looks like they cut the car body and set the box inside. You can still see the deck lid under the box and the fenders are mounted to the original quarters. It could be neat with some work. The best way in my opinion to finish it off would be to run car quarter panels from the rear fenders to the doors and blend them into the box side rails.

This one still looks very save-able, what's the story on it? Also appears to be a '49 or '50 but has a '51 grille in it judging by the "elephant ear" wrap around piece.

It’s a ‘49 , my father bought it for his dad in 1961, my grandfather liked his forty something Chevy better. Been on the ranch ever since. I used to drive it as a kid. Didn’t really need it , but kinda kept it running for a while, then got pushed in the trees. Always thought I’d fix it up, now my son plans on doing it. Let’s hope he does, I also have a parts car to go with it

You are correct sir. I missed the door hinges and didn't pay attention to the top. Was just going by the shape of the firewall.

Boy, even the parts car looks like a builder to me, and the one having a family history seems well worth building, any chance I can convince you to move them to a dry spot, or at least get them up in the air and out of the leaves?

Hopefully we get to them soon, the ‘50 is in the air, when we pulled it off the trailer , Fifty years ago it wedged itself against the tree and has been suspended since. Bones

It's a '35 or '36 Tudor Humpback. I always wondered how much sheet metal was left below the mud line. It would be quite an adventure to pull it out. The 54 Ford is pretty much on top of it and I think quite a few trees have grown up around the pile since it was dumped there. I'm headed back to IL for my high school reunion in May, I may go back to the woods to check it out. It's on the property next to my Dad's: who knows, maybe the neighbor would let me have it. I think it was dumped there long before they bought the property, probably no sentimental attachment!
