  2. We took a little Easter vacation this weekend to Virginia beach. On Friday I took a few photos of some diecast Hot Rods, for the F.A.S. I'll post them here too. Sorry if you already saw them Friday. they're 1/18 scale TROG. Lol Ron....[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Murph, doesnt a version of that older diecast racer have "Flames" that move in and out of the holes in the hood as it rolls along?

I think that you're thinking of this one:

-It's got two parallel rows of "flames" that protrude through the hood, a crank mechanism between the front wheels causes them to move up and down on alternate sides. Early "hi-tech".

I know it is past Tuesday but I just finished unpacking from a trip. I picked up this heavy metal cast early 1918 -1921 Chevy 1-ton open delivery truck. There are no manufacturer markings, it is 10 1/2" long and is threaded on the bottom which suggests it was mounted on something.
The casting and finish looks similar to ones made by Banthrico. They do make a lot of metal banks and when I checked different sites I could not find this particular truck design. Oddly after I found this one, I saw another over priced one in a Florida Flea Market which was mounted on a wood base, incorrectly identified as being solid brass and included a certificate of authenticity (probably fake to attract a buyer) from the National Motor Museum Mint. I did check their site and also with a local friend who is a huge collector and we could not find any information on this truck casting.
Maybe someone here has one or has seen one and can help me identify what I have. Thanks

  13. That would have been a shame, but the boys at the yard would have happily accepted it. :D

  17. Yeah I know, I gave $10. For it at a flea market. I didn't know what to post today. So I thought that it's road trip, and cruising with the friends time. :) Ron...[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  19. {VintageAuto} Yes, I've seen them sell for over $2,000.00 MIB. Not bad for my $10 Bucks. lol I collected the old Japanese tin toys, before they made the newer die cast cars. Back then they were just toys. Yes it's 11 inches long. And made by Marasan of Japan, in 1954 only. Thanks Ron...[IMG][IMG][IMG]

  26. I found this 1:18 Model T in the swap meet at the Del Mar Goodguys show a couple weeks ago. Very accurate detail. Came in a nice tin too. 622161883.jpg 622161877.jpg
