  2. More on the Stanton BSA - http://www.bsafwdc.org/features-3/the-stanton-special/
The registration KL8799 is still 'live' and the car had a warrant of fitness (safety check) in 2013.

I knew Morrie Stanton in his later years, and next owner Barrie Gurdler was a neighbour of mine. He passed away a few years ago. I haven't heard anything about the car in recent times - mainly because I have not asked!

    Hello to all concerned!
Sorry to transfer such a bad news to this Forum:
Just ten minutes ago I got the third message:
    "it's over, Jim passed away"!
Rest in peace, my big and great friend, Jim-Jimski-Bluto!

Zophia asked me to send her sincere thanks to all of you, for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers.
She knows that the next few days will be rough, but she is a strong lady and I know she will come thru
OK in the end, it will just take time--lots of time..

Be nice if we could somehow (change of title of thread ?) dedicate this thread to Bluto.

Good, but have to ask where we could find that "the main thread"?
Could you post weblink for us that do not know that?
    Regards,

    Hello Kume and thank you!
    Magnificent and crazy racing cyclecar...
Should be nice inspiration for a DIY project?
Anybody has experience with central-pivot steering and suspension or with any other type of cable-commands???

    Ciao,
    Zoran

That is a curious one. Looks like a Morgan but I've not seen one with louvers on the bonnet. Don't recognize the engine type either.

I've seen where it is identified at as a 1927 Super Aero. Anything unfamiliar could be attributed to personal modification.the engine? a Blackburne?

Years ago I did this with the Morgan inspired replica that I built. Got it back down--by luck, not skill. I wasn't really worried--figured that my passenger would take most of the pavement contact for me.
    Ah, the"good old days"

I tried for 2 years to make my JZR go up on two but all it would do was slide. Last spring I put on new front tires and suddenly it happened!! My passenger stuck his hand out; not good. Fortunately he was not injured but the lower edge of the body panel scraped the ground. A quick turn of the steering brought it back down. Rather exciting.

Same here--I had just changed from bike tires (which would slide) to car tires (which bit in). Must have something to do with the sidewall construction.

It resembles an AV Monocar or Carden monocar....

Probably made from Jowett components and likely by a Jowett engineer.

Cool old photo of the Salmson. I love the backdrop, is it a building at Brooklands?

My guess is that it's not. Probably the coachbuilders of Salmson's themselves.
