Here's the one I drive. Not many modifications other than some stainless removal, DSCN1029.JPG
    lowering, and GMC power.

I have a 48 Olds Fastback just sitting in storage. It's to nice to crush but I'll never build it. Probably be on the estate sale?

I'm not sure the small-body Chevies and Olds '88 can be described as "forgotten" by the hot rod community as illustrated by the numerous photographs posted thus far. However it's amazing the big-body Olds 98, Buicks and Cadillacs don't seem to enjoy more popularity. Amazing designs, especially the '48-49 Oldsmobile 98.

Yea the big 49 50 Olds have always been one of my favorite cars. Love the front ends on them with the P51 styling.

I think if you brought the back of the roof forward (making more of a shelf behind it) this would be a really nice looking car. Although that would make it not a fastback. Hey Themoose....... LOL

I think the Olds is my favorite. I had a 50 Chevrolet Fleetline I built a long time ago. I am a wannabe custom guy, hot rodder at heart though. I should just buy one a custom guy has already built.

Love the olds and Caddys. Miss my 48 Fleetline. Does a Henry J fit in here too?

Any History on this car ?, Milwaukee Wisconsin, around 1959/60, my buddies Mom was dating a man with a car just like this orange one as I remember it and us kids got to go cruising in it with them, my car obsession already in full bloom, this and a neighbor's 57 Chevy added fuel to the fire.

My 50 Olds came from California. Built by Al Kvarme and featured in Streetrodder Magazine in 1975 and used for a short scene in the 1979 movie Hot Rod.

I doubt it was ever in WI until recent years

No - oh god - they look like an amateur photoshop. Car body design is not just a cut&paste job!

No, NO! Looks like a turd! I repeat the above.

You just cannot improve the design from what GM did in late 40's. Make any change and it goes for worse.
