Stogy, i remember a few years ago , people would complain about old threads being dug up. I faded back into the woodwork but have been watching . I used to have a different name on here back about 12-14 years ago but couldnt remember it when i got back from the desert.
The elderly man I bought my '27 tub from (body, frame; roller, $300!) had a mint pair on the shelf in his shop. (E&J) I asked if they were for sale, and he asked what I'd offer...I said they were worth a LOT, but I wasn't interested. He then sold me the steel '27 roadster with fenders, (no axles, bustle, or running gear...but body, frame, GAS TANK, doors were NICE!...$250!) My F100 made 2 trips to get my 'T' stuff home. FARK the ugly E&J's. But they served their purpose, as he said he knew I wasn't there to take advantage...
Some of the Hambs best threads have faded to the background and it is a pleasure to see what built this nostalgic celebration the Hamb. As it is always suggested "Did you use the search?" The gospel is ever changing but a lot has been archived...rightfully so. If it wasn't worthy it wouldn't still be here. I have great respect for the enterprising individuals who fueled the customizing automotive evolution we feed off for what we enjoy. Edmund & Jones is one of them... This is why old threads are important...I will snoop around tomorrow but others may chime in and you have alerted Denis...as eluded originals pull a pretty penny...

I'd love to see the front of the skirted '30-31 Ford in post #69...the whole car is at least knocking on the door of a good design, and it looks like the E&J's just might look decent among the other bulbous shapes...something harf to do on an early Ford!
Bruce I've searched high and low for other pics of this and it highlights how rare images of these reminders of a past glorious time are. Albert Drake is the one who spoke of and perhaps photographed this car and the man who owned it...his name was Bob Feeley... There is a chance that the top left photo in the pic below may be the same car albiet the lights are not E & J's and the hood looks to be different at least in color. It could be the same car just a different time-frame of its existence. @edwardlloyd your passion for automotive history, all things mechanical and the fine details are just something to behold...awesome. I take it the inner workings are going to be a setup of your design rather than projected as the originals. If a modern lighting setup is what you are using the outer lense will externally mimic the original?
