Are they pulling a motor at their motel? LOL!!! The manager must have loved that. "Don't worry about the oil and grease boys. I want my establishment to look like crap."

Sometimes the simplest things to do never seem to occur to many folks. Thanks chaz for that very, very simple solution to the conundrum that seems to befuddle lots of folks.

Typical Speedweek at Bonneville. Even today there will be work done on race cars at motels. Everyone must be off the salt over night, so some teams haul their race cars to town and work on them all night at motels.

I'd bet it was something that was overlooked a few times a year when a big event came to town whether the drags or a land speed event. May even have been welcomed considering how much the occupancy increased during these events, probably helped them keep the doors open and made up for the slow months.

In Wendover when this picture was taken they considered swatting flies as something to do for the 51 weeks the SCTA wasn't there. Not now. They got casinos and don't need us anymore. I liked it better when the LDS ran the town. Easier to get breakfast now, though.
