    Rich that is just unreal! Can you make a head for us Straight Eight Buick guys?

    Bones....phew... you had me worried! I thought I was gonna learn that the Ni-Copp I used was a bad choice for some reason I did not have knowledge of. Local car parts place turned me on to it. Says for brake lines on it. If I recall it was ok for fuel too. Hope so cause I did that too. It was easy to work with and I liked the look of it. Most of all when I got the car I had to re-do all the lines so there was a lot of bending. Worked well with drums all the way around for several years until the master died. Guess we'll see with the power discs this summer. So far so good.

    I never finished this one. Well the head was pretty much finished. Engine needed new pistons and reassembly. I would never start anything like this now. It was hard to get out in the shop a couple of years ago when we did this. It's the kind of thing you need to do yourself. Pull the trigger and buy a mill and just start. Keep going and eventually you will have a head. PS. You do know the Salt Cat guys in Montana converted a stock Buick head to 16 ports using a drill press they say. Now that I think of it. There was a lakester at Bonneville with a Buick eight and a head made using four Subaru heads. Really neat. You can do it if you stop thinking you can't.

  5. I understand Kunifer/NiCopp is not widely used in the USA so not surprising you haven’t heard of it previously. Looks like copper so would certainly ring alarm bells for those used to using steel. It’s great stuff and worth a try next time you do brake lines

  8. Hmm, I bet Autozone stocks those. Is that with or without Air Conditioning? 2 or 4 wheel drive?
    Actually, thanks for the photo, gives me something to think about.

    Here is a spacer I made to raise a supercharger up. Started with a 18" x 18" x 1 1/4" thick chunk of aluminum. BLOWER SPACER.jpg BLOWER SPACER 2.jpg

    Years ago I fabbed a new rear bed crossmember for my 49 Ford truck. I used some pre-stamped bed pockets, some rectangular tubing and some round tubing and fabbed the rear rolled piece across the rear of the bed.

    I also fabbed up some valve covers for my big Caddy by mating some early 50's valve covers with the late model stuff;

    I took the easy way out. Drilled and tapped fender script #2-56. And screwed them to the covers img96.JPG

    Welcome to the HAMB, Captain Freddy, that's a great candidate for a Technical thread on its own. Do you have more pictures?

    Never found a spreader bar I liked so I built this one for the model A frame I scratch built. My bar is about 75 to 80% done.
