    My Home town! The cock a doodle is still there and still going! That's on Central ave. just south of Riverside dr. my fathers shop was just about a mile down off of G st.

  6. I still have the Nickey catalogues from 1970. That was where I bought my mounts and headers to stuff the big block into my 55 Cameo.
    Looking at the prices compared to the prices for the same items today, they seem to be a bargain, but you have to compare them with the wages people were earning back then.
    The minimum wage was $1.60. Today, the equivalent would be approximately $11.11.
    Average wage in 1970 was $6,186, today, the average wage is $48, 600 (2016).
    What I am getting to, is that if you multiply the cost of the 1960 price of the item of interest by 8, it will give you an idea what the price is in 2018 dollars.
