A couple of friends of mine, brothers ran a '62 Dodge wagon 383-343. It was called "The Brew Wagon". They sold it to another friend of ours. When he sold it some time in the '80's. He thinks it went to Pa. or maybe N.J. Anyone know this car?

Lost Caravan of Jr Stockers found .A load of Jr Stockers going to the 1971 US Nationals in INDY from NHRA Division 8 has been found on a dirt road nearly 48 years after it left home.Authorities think the load was abandoned after the owners found that Nhra was implementing new rule changes early.Happy 4/1/18 13083185_875156789280126_6577048805941157484_n.jpg

It is a S/D by the rear door. VIN plate is off. Heard the owner has it. Going to talk to him today. But the car is pretty darn rough. Gene.

This nice 57 AHRA car was from my area 29432961_10213727379811869_3656333331925306217_n.jpg .Remember seeing it at local tracks running weekly legal eliminators.

Lyn, that's a GREAT looking car! Thanks for sharing. It's easy to forget that there were geographic regions of the country within which NHRA did not have a commanding presence so the local cars were built to meet the standards of their home tracks. During the 1960's there were times when only Pomona and one other track (irwindale or OCIR) were affiliated with AHRA in the entire Los Angeles area. Fontana, Irwindale, Lions, and OCIR all signed on with AHRA at one time or another during their existence. The Stock rules between the two associations were so dissimilar that an AHRA stocker had to place to run except Gas or Modified production classes at an NHRA event and even a good-runniung NHRA car had its hands full trying to compete in AHRA Stock Eliminator. When the geeks start talking about the possibility of "parallel universes" that situation always comes to mind.

Lyn you certainly have posted some beautiful cars. I'm partial to 57's but have had many of all years, that 57 is one of my favorites. Thanks for posting.

Here's a div. 6 stock and super stock standout, Paul Smith from Eugene Oregon.
Watched him run many times up here in the early/ mid 70's.
I was involved with a friends 66 Hemi Sattelite Super/Stock car so don't recall the timeline of class changes.
I don't have time to read it now so I thought I'd post this great article instead of spewing out false history.

Great pictures. Tritak and Morgan, NED heavy hitters out of Clifton. Watched them at Island Dragway in the late 60's and early 70's when stock, Jr Stock, Super Stock and modified eliminator put on a great show. Miss those days, but was glad I was able to witness them.

Raced against the Tension car at our home track, Omaha, in 1966 & 1967. My car was a I & J stock 56 Chevy 210 with 210 hp, single 4 bbl., - 3 speed. He almost always was a 270 hp 4 speed car.

Raced straight up many times in time trials before elimnation, and also sometimes in Jr Stock Eliminator if we both progressed that far. We both usually did, but he was much closer to his respective record, so I was normally on the short end of the stick.
I could get him out of the hole... (before reaction times were clocked) but that was it......was loads of fun.

I knew Donnis Stephenson..& mostly Fred Anderson from my working at the local Speed shop.... Anderson would come in a lot to BS. Great times. His company framed homes as I recall. (that's what I remember anyway.)

.....sorry to hear he passed recently.

I haven't kept up on pricing but I'm guessing if you find someone who needs them he'll be willing to pay good money for them.
