    It's that time of year again where we pack our bags, change the oil and air the tires as we prep to hit the highway towards Austin, Texas. We're headed out tomorrow morning for what has become an annual trip for us. The roadtrip to the Lone Star Roundup.

    We moved to central Oregon about three years ago and my wife Cynthia got a job in town, which meant she couldn't get the time off work to go on the roadtrip with me. But this year ACME GAL RIDES AGAIN!

    For those of you that have followed our trips in the past, you know that its as much about the "trip" as it is the destination. We will be looking for adventures, stopping a lot and posting a bunch of photos along the way.

    So, come on....Buy the ticket, take the ride.

    I always enjoy your annual Lone Star Round Up thread. You always seem to find and photograph the coolest places. I especially enjoy the photos of the abandoned buildings, ghost towns, and old signage
    I feel like I just boarded the Polar Express, only this one's bound for hot rod heaven!

    Great to be along for the ride. I was planning on making the trip also as I had a blast last year, but due to some medical problems I will be staying home this year. So to follow along with you will have to be my LSRU fix for this year.

    Our first stop as we head east out of Bend Oregon was at the old Millican store. Christian and his son Wilhelm stopped to see the van and tell us stories about when the store used to be open.
