Beware of a guy from San Francisco Bay Area using HAMB to scam people. If you’re selling something and he calls you hang up ASAP!

  8. So, just how exactly was he scamming? If he was the buyer, that limits what he can do...

So RiKi - Let’s clarify things here.
Did you post a wanted ad or did you post something for sale?

Never mind I see you just posted a wanted ad
for 51 to 53 Buick radiators on Sunday.

    Don’t post your phone number…
That opens up to exactly what’s happening.
You are a prime target for parts wanted ads. A friend of a friend of a friend told me that you’re looking for 53 Buick radiators. I have just what you want. Send me a Western Union payment or a Walmart transfer and I’ll send you the radiator including freight right away.
    Sound familiar?

Don’t post your phone number on your wanted ads
    Just some advice.

My wife sent an Instagram money transfer and the radiator never showed up at the agreed upon bus station. Now his cell is “disconnected”

Parts wanted ads are a bullseye for scammers .

In this case, the guy who contacted RiKi said a “friend” saw it on the HAMB and gave him RiKi’s number.....

    What friend ?
What’s the friends HAMB name ?
How many posts does the friend ( HAMB Member ) have ?

    Ask a 1000 questions .....

    Scammers menu ....
I have the exact part you are looking for .
Send me money and I’ll ship it.
Send me a Western Union money order or send a Walmart Money Transfer .,,,
    Instagram money transfers....
    Any money transfers .....
My Paypal Account is dormant .....
Send money to my wife’s account .....
    Yadda yadda yadda .

    Oldest trick for scammers .......

Don’t do it under any circumstances !

I don't care how you get your items, but you never do any sort of money transfer with a stranger (or hell even someone you know) without a verified service such as Paypal. Scammers always be scammin'

Unfortunately - he probably has several name and photo ID's that he uses.
Daniel Nelson being one of many.
    Cell phone disconnected is common.

I'm sorry this happened to you RiKi.
