Restoring this Fisk rim clock anyone ever seen one the rim diameter is 19.5 and think it's 1920s what size tire should I look for? I have a lead on one but not sure if it's the right size.Ill be adding the missing neon to It I think it was blue any input appreciated thanks.
I googled vintage Disk tire clocks and there are images of some. Here's one that looks similar at an antique store. The reason is this one got zapped by a lightning surge. The Ingram motor had hundreds of turns of fine wire which the zap opened. I tried fixing it and gave up. That's true, mine I had on a protector though. Unplugged lightning would have to jump 2-3 feet! Another problem I had with lighted clocks was in the garage here was it soon filled with moths and other bugs. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk
Yes getting clock working then neon then to find the right tire size for a 19.5 diameter rim I have a lead on on 30 by 3 fisk tire but not sure what rim size that equals
I would think when you find, say, a 30"x3" tire contacting owner should be able to tell you i.d., rim size. That's going to be one big clock! I guess back then they must have used a real tire. Restored it's bound to be worth a lot. Amazing almost a century old! Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk
Here is some info for you out of my 1935 Fisk Manual of Product and Advertising. I collect Fisk Tire items as Fisk is my last name but have never seen one of these large clocks. I have seen the small rubber tire desk clocks and the back lit plastic type. Here are some of my items. The items in the blue and white packaging are 60's and 70's Kmart era items.

I have a whole lot of questions for the clock owner, 1968 pickup. Avatar shows a Jeep, is that what you have a '68 Jeep pickup? Since I'm a Rambler guy that's a great year and truck. Pictures please? The clock I assume about 22" diameter overall, 19.5" rim which may be a 30" tire (which a tire owner should be able to measure for you). Is neon transformer still there? Does motor run? How will you repair porcelain chips, I assume paint those areas? Do you know someone who can make that neon circle (correct bend, color, etc.). Sorry for so many questions, retored it will be nice and worth a lot. I'm guessing not many still left. I like Mr. Fisk's collection as well. Any relation to the Fisk company family? Jeep is a 65 clock is at clock repair shop now then getting neon then a tire not touching up the porcelain cause rest of my signs are rough so it will go good with them
I have a mint NOS 18" Fisk that I was going to use on my 32 Nash...but I ended up finding a pair of metal sidemount spare tire covers which the car is supposed to have, so now that Fisk tire will never even be seen. I might let it go, let me think on it. .
