    Yep, that's the car.

Interesting how that fiberglass deck lid looked like rusted steel. o_O

That hood looks like the one that was on my car when I sold it to Total performance around 75. They bought it for a customer who wanted a car now as they built him a T . That guy went bankrupt or owed taxes. It then went to Tom Goldman who built a race car out of it and sold the steel nose to Lou DiDinato on LI who owned Vinnie Tarentolas C/GS 40 Willys sedan this info is 90% correct so I wonder about that hood.

I'm not sure what we are doing this year. Our building schedule is booked into the middle of 2019 so we are going to be very busy.

We sold a 33 coupe, a 40 pickup, a 40 coupe, we are keeping the sedan delivery. The 36 sedan will be for sale. We have another 40 coupe but it is spoken for. We also have a 53 foot trailer that is full of parts.

  10. It was a U.S. built but NZ assembled. The light pods are 39 Overland but were modified by the original owner to fit 7'' sealed beams, the original lights came to me in a box. JW

  11. I have known this one for a while as I bought it in 81,got it going and drove a bit over 10 years and then parked it up. After my T is all done the 35 will get some long overdue attention. JW

  12. The dash of my 35. It came to NZ in 36 and converted to R/H drive locally. Mrs W is really looking forward to getting this back on the road again. I will never part with it. JW

I'll play. '53 Willys Aero Ace 164 cubic inch F-head hardtop two door (no B-post). Had a Borg Warner overdrive, too. Sure wish Mom hadn't nixed my plan of getting this car when I turned 16.

The gasser look Willys is my favorite car of all time.

  21. Back from Vacation...found another Willys...but not quite the kind from the gasser era that we all love.
I certainly appreciate all the help keeping "Willys I have known" going with some great pictures and stories, about the Willys we have all known. IMG_20180319_155152977.jpg Keep them coming!!! IMG_20170120_153311542 (2).jpg The '47 2A was sighted in southern Colorado. The other picture is of the motor in my '36 sedan...looks good, but probably a mistake, as that engine compartment is sooo small. I might re-think that at some point, but I've got it running pretty good, so I'll keep it this way for a while.

I bet that '47 has a Hemi with a 6-71 under the hood. Notice the bulge on top?

  24. The cover car and very nice write up feature in Gasser Wars Magazine this issue...also a tribute to Dee Morris, whose husband is the editor/publisher. Dee passed away recently, and will be missed by all those who knew her.
My friend's coupe is a master piece, and is he ever enjoying it. He put in 265 C.I. chev. motor from a 55 he once ownd in his youth, and it's blown...putting out over 360 HP. It is backed up by a 4-speed. If you get this magazine, enjoy the story, and a marvelous coupe...almost perfect in every way...cancel the almost, it is perfect!!! Paint is an original '41 Willys color...Bedford grey. g-willys (We featured it at my picnic 3 years ago in the last picture) IMG_3029.JPG IMG_3025.JPG 20150618_184558.jpg

Willys factory paint question, was there a predominant color for '37-'41's ?
Example, like post war Ford trucks were mostly green

  26. I know 37-38's were common in light metallic in bronze and green, my 37 was bronze. JW

This is one of my favorites. I like the early build style and the stance that is not too exaggerated and the use of the original color and the fact that it is blown without a hole in the hood. I had no idea that the 265 came out of a 55 that he had owned in his youth. That's a nice touch.

  28. I never keept track of predominent colors, but don't remember too many red ones (personal exception...pickup I found was red). Saw black, green, beige, , but don't recall a dominant color show up...guess I never kept much track of that. I do have a color chart somewhere...have to look for it. g-willys

  29. You have some nice pictures of his car in settings I have never seen, alond with some Meltdown pictures...did you take then, and were you at the Meltdown? Regarding the 265 CI motor, he used to say he kept tripping over it in his shop, so he must have had it for a long while. I was surprised that he pulled that much HP out of it, but it was a great choice for him. Take a look at the air cleaner atop the blower...it was custom made specificly to clear the closed hood! g-willys
