    #15:

Although #10 appeals to my sense of weirdness:

There is something almost Zagato-ish about it.

I voted for #8 El Capitola. Always been a favorite of mine. Although #9, the 1960 Ford is more my taste and style.

I have to admit that I don't know shinella about customs. I like seeing the custom cars on the HAMB but I never got bit by the bug. And what the hell is with all of the kitchenette hardware in the front ends?

I had to take it seriously and vote so I separated the wheat from the chaffe, or in this case vise versa and took out the ones I didn't like or those that did the least for me without regard to who built them and narrowed the selection to the ones I would own I guess? I would probably make a lousy show judge when it comes to customs.

I went with the pinanfarina influenced vette with a bunch of drawer pulls in the grille

Anyone else notice that the Leo Lyons car is listed as a Ford?

  9. I voted for #2, not because it's my favorite but more because it represents the trends that existed at the time. My personal fav in this list is the #3, the Wilhelm-built Mark Mist '36 Ford, #5 Ron Rodden's '57 'Vette would be a close second. I suspect that Starbird's Predicta was probably the original choice...

The '59-64 era was IMO the peak of the customs; so many now-famous icons came out of this era (and more than a few infamous ones too! LOL!) before the 'cartoon' showcars took over.

I prefer milder Customs and I absolutely love Jimmy Doss's '58 ... and in this paint job! Screen Shot 2018-03-21 at 2.25.32 PM.png JimmDoss1958ChevyPotter3-vi.jpg

Number 9 does it for me, even though it appears very mild compared to the rest of the group. I like em clean and understated.
