I've never seen old style valve covers like that on a 455, factory covers are ten bolts around the edges. How did they get them to fit?

    My '49 was a 76, but I fixed that with a '54 - 324 & Hydro, back in 1965 ! Sold it for $175.00 2012-11-27 165602.jpg

    WOW!!!!!!!

If it were mine (you know I have to do this lol), I'd scrape those Edelbrock stickers off the carbs... I would also lower it a little and paint those steel wheels black with chrome lug nuts.. Hopefully there not those dual lug pattern wheels..

Real nice car that somebody did a lot of first class work to..

If you bought it close to Van Nuys airport, Then I know the car

  20. I love 49-51 Olds cars. Got a buddy in a neighboring town who used to build olds' This is a 50 coupe he built with the early experimental V/8 engine...can't remember the cu. in. but it was a little smaller than a 303. IIRR it had a manual transmission and the see-through hood sold to dealerships. Extremely nice car. I think the brown rag top was his too. He once built a KILLER olds sedan delivery using an Olds 4 door and a chevy delivery....couldn't tell it wasn't factory. 50Oldseddieresec.jpg

IF Van Nuys Bob built the car I don't think the PCV would be sticking out the top of the valve cover.

50 Olds fastback, for me its lust!
… I totally concur with your (Like”) as you put it, of this period Oldsmobile. I still have an original 1950-52 Oldsmobile NOS Accessory Self Winding Clock Steering Wheel Assembly that I bought over the Dealership Counter in 1958, such nice guys they even included the showroom poster. I bought all this to put into a period Olds that never came about. I’ll include some photos.

    Is Eddy still alive?

  30. Hells yeah! I stop and see him a few times a year out at Wahoo but he's slowed down with building 49-51 Olds cars.
